a little art, a little craft ...

Hi there, creative type!

Well, I took a bit of a break from my newsletter, it has been about 6 weeks since my last issue - did ya miss me?  :-)

I plan to stay on track now with monthly issues, devoted to FREE projects, prize drawings, tips and techniques.

This month I'm quite the "happy tapper" because I've been having a blast working with TAP® Transfer Artist Paper. If you don't know what it is - head on over to the Cool2Craft website and watch the June 3rd special episode on it - 90 minutes chock full of demos and inspiration! Details are at the bottom of this newsletter.

I am giving a FREE sheet of TAP to 5 lucky readers of my newsletter! If you want a chance to win, just leave a comment on the "happy tapper" post on my blog. Winners will be announced on my blog by 6/19 - so be sure to check back!

TAP Greeting Card

1. Paint a 4.5"x6.5" piece of Ultra-Light Lutradur with desired acrylic paint, blended up to 50% with your favorite medium. Allow to dry.

2. Select a photograph or collage image on your computer to fit within 4"x6" and inkjet print it on to TAP.

3. Transfer the TAP image to the Lutradur with your iron (follow package directions).

4. Adhere the Lutradur to a piece of folded cardstock with your favorite adhesive.

5. Use a marker to color the edges of the card and add your desired embellies.

Fabric Postcard

1. Use a pinking blade to trim a piece of Timtex®  to 4"x6".

2. Color the edges of the Timtex with desired colored marker.

3. Choose a background image on your computer that will fit within 4"x6" and inkjet print it on to TAP.

4. Transfer the image on to a piece of fabric and trim to 3.5"x5.5". Set aside.

5. Paint two small pieces of Ultra-Light Lutradur with desired colors of acrylic paint, blended up to 50% with your favorite medium. You can also color pieces with markers instead - Copics work particularly well on Lutradur.

6. Trim pieces of Lutradur to size per picture above (small yellow rectangle and cranberry ribbon strip) and adhere to the fabric with your favorite adhesive.

7. Use a needle and thread to make a line or two of decorative  stitches to anchor the lutradur to the fabric.

8. Add desired embellishment - secure with glue or stitches.

9. Glue the embellished fabric to the front of the Timtex, and glue a 4"x6" piece of cardstock to the back of the Timtex.

10. Use a sewing machine to stitch a border all the way around the edge of the fabric, securing all three layers together (fabric, Timtex, cardstock).

Hope you enjoyed that!
Now go and create a little something, would ya?  :-)
