Message
from Michael, Elaine & The Team: Our
second newsletter finds us squarely in the middle of San Francisco Summer. We recognize it by the colorfully lit
fog on July 4th, stone fruit and tomatoes at the Farmers Markets,
and coming home from a day at Golden Gate Park with a classic "San Francisco
Tan", otherwise known as "sunburned goosebumps".
A Soft Touch
Like most in our industry, Small
Potatoes Catering & Events has a long history of giving back to the
community. Our pro bono priorities are At-Risk Youth, Social Justice,
(with a
focus on LGBT issues) and Support of the Arts. Among our favorite
freebies are
the annual Opening/Closing Night Parties for the SF International LGBT
Film
Festival. The folks at Frameline
remind us of everything we love about The City, and we treated their
1200
guests to a couple of killer dessert stations: Ginger
Mascarpone Cake, Spiced Caramel Sauce & Roasted Pineapple, and Black
Forest Cake, Warm Chocolate Sauce & Fresh
Brandied Cherries. If you have a cause that you think might be a
good fit, please
reach out. |

Spuds Signs a Heavy Hitter Join us in
welcoming Heather Phillippe as our new Sales and Marketing Coordinator. Heather
brings with her an extensive background in the local event scene, including
having opened Infusion Lounge, one of the City's premier nightspots. In her
spare time, she enjoys traveling and walking her Italian Greyhound, Cosmo. Clearly, as evidenced here taking her
ups at AT&T Park at a recent ISES event, she is ready to step up to the
plate.

Wine & Cheese
Turns out
they taste pretty good together! On June 11th clients, friends, and family were invited to the Small
Potatoes kitchen for a chance to relax, swirl and spread. We're crazy about
Cowgirl Creamery's wholesale program, so with some carefully curated wines of
Elaine's choosing, we took the opportunity to play. A favorite proved to be the Mt. Tam with Quince Paste paired
with the
2008 Domaine Gramenon. And of
course, Sweet ensured that no one left empty-handed. We host these little get-togethers as our schedule allows,
and hope you can join us August 12 for our next one. Stay tuned for details.

Featured Venue LIVE! At
888 Brannan. We've recently developed a partnership with this stunning
Showplace Square venue. The
dramatic, 5-story atrium soars to a retractable glass dome, and is ideal for
both corporate and private events.
With a two-tiered stage, dance floor, bar, and their own lighting and
sound equipment, LIVE! is one of the most versatile event facilities in the Bay
Area. We look forward to creating some more fond memories there.
