SBL Senior Fellow Laura Rubbo hosted and presented at a convening at Disney of the Global Social Compliance Program to promote discussion with 70 participants on capacity-building for improved labor conditions in global supply chains.

 

SBL Senior Fellow Fran Seegull will be heading to Ixtapa, Mexico this month to attend Opportunity Collaboration, a conference focusing on economic justice. She will also be a panelist on Taking Sustainable & Impact Investing Mainstream and Getting to the Roots: Investing in Local Food at SOCAP.

Climate Resolve, a non-profit founded by SBL Senior Fellow Jonathan Parfrey, released a new state-of-the-art climate study, which for the first time communicates how climate change will specifically affect Los Angeles. Learn more at C-CHANGE.LA.

 

EcoMedia, founded by SBL Senior Fellow Paul Polizzotto, recently teamed with LA Recreation & Parks and Chevrolet to open Los Angeles' first universal access sports field, providing disabled children the opportunity to participate in organized adaptive sports league play. SBL Senior Fellow Kay Buck recently attended a UN reception in NYC hosted by President Obama and the First Lady, then headed to the Clinton Global Initiative where the President spoke about human trafficking and recognized a survivor who was helped by Kay's non-profit, CAST.

Question Box, a non-profit founded by SBL Senior Fellow Rose Shuman, was selected as a Global Hot 100 Company by the World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Boston, where Rose will be participating as a panelist. Question Box also made it to the Final 40 of the African News Innovation Challenge.

 

SBL Scholar Abby Chao recently returned from Singapore where the USC Marshall Team placed 3rd at the NUS-DBS 2012 International Case Competition

 

SBL partner Mariana Amatullo, co-founder of DesignMatters, and her team were featured in Fast Company's 50 Designers Shaping the Future issue as a finalist in the Innovation by Design Awards.
