SBL Founding Director Adlai Wertman was honored with a 2012 Mellon Mentoring Award for his work with undergraduate students. 


SBL Senior Fellow Fran Seegull will attend Secretary Hillary Clinton's Global Impact Economy Forum at the State Department later this month.

SBL Senior Fellow Rose Shuman will present on a panel at the UNESCO World Press Freedom Day Conference in Tunis, Tunisia on May 4th.


SBL Scholar Jessica Stauffer ('14) co-wrote an article with USC Economics professor Nake Kamrany on Bangladesh's Rising Income Potential, published on the Huffington Post. 


Society and Business Fellow Jennifer May (MBA '13) was appointed Vice President of Programs for Marshall Net Impact. She will coordinate the Board Fellows program and Service Corps. Society and Business Fellow Jon Beckhart (MBA '13) was appointed Vice President of Finance.  


Upon graduation, SBL intern Kerem Yilmaz (MPP '12) and Society and Business Fellow Tracy Dennis (MBA '12) will join the staff of the William J. Clinton Foundation in New York City as Clinton-Orfalea Fellows. Kerem will join the Clinton Climate Initiative and Tracy will join the Clinton Global Initative America.


After graduation, Society and Business Fellow Asa Firestone (MBA '12) will pursue his social impact adventure brand, BEYONDgear, that sponsors at-risk youth  to attend climbing school at the Centro de Escalada Urbana in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Society and Business Fellow Elena Zager (MBA '12) accepted a position as Senior Development Associate of Marketing and Program Development at the Milken Institute.


Society and Business Fellow Christian Basa (MBA '13) will spend his summer working with St. Joseph's Medical Center.


This summer, SBL Scholar Katherine Lau ('13) will intern at Warner Bros. Corporate Responsibility and Scholar Connor Jackson ('14) will intern at Greenment Shanghai. SBL intern and Scholar Richelle Gribble ('13) was selected to participate in the Mobile News Incubator Fellowship Program. Richelle will also be a visual display and merchandising intern at Anthropologie and a digital marketing intern at (RED).


SBL Scholars Vina Vo ('13) and Jeremy Shwartz ('12) were accepted into the Marshall International Summer Internship program in Jakarta, Indonesia. After his summer in Indonesia, Jeremy will complete a year-long fellowship in nonprofit consulting with the Kearney Alliance


SBL Scholar Greg Woodburn ('12) was awarded $10,000 for graduate school as a Renaissance Scholar Prize recipient. After graduation, he will manage his nonprofit organization, Give Running.


SBL intern and Scholar Katey Finnegan ('12) was nominated as a Global Scholar Prize Finalist for her research on sustainable development in Nicaragua. In May she will begin a two-year International Management Training Program at Rustic Pathways.


After graduation, SBL Scholar Sarah Barrett ('12) will begin work at Bain and Company


SBL Scholar Kelvin Tse ('11) has moved to the Silicon Valley and is working at internet start-up Pay Near Me
