Paul Vandeventer, SBL Senior Fellow and President & CEO of Community Partners, will make a panel appearance at the 2012 Harvard Social Enterprise Conference. Paul will be speaking about his book, Networks that Work, and feature a focused network case study (known widely as The Kimberley Process) about the international network agreement that sought to end the sale and trade of "conflict diamonds."   

 

SBL Senior Fellow Fran Seegull lectured on impact investing and the social capital markets at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Kennedy School of Government. At the end of February, she will speak at the "Beyond Microfinance" panel at the Harvard Social Enterprise Conference.

  

SBL Scholar and Intern Katey Finnegan ('12) presented her field research from Nicaragua at the Notre Dame Human Development Conference.

 

Congratulations to SBL Alumni on recent promotions and career advances. Erin Keller (MBA '11) began work as the Associate Director of Recruitment and Selection for The Broad Residency in Urban Education. Todd Benshoof (MBA '11) is publicly launching his startup, FileTrek. Margaux Helvey (MBA '08) was promoted to Director of Development and Community and Corporate Partnerships at the Downtown Women's Center and Adam Miller (MBA '05) is now Senior Vice President at EdTec.


SBL Scholar Nick Nomann ('11) recently became Chief of Staff at Roozt. After graduating in May, Scholar Ayushi Gummadi ('12) will join Teach For America as a Chicago Corps Member. Other SBL Scholars have accepted internships at local social enterprises: Aisha Lewis ('14) is interning at LivelyHoods, Melissa Rocque ('12) is interning at GOOD Inc, and Ann Li ('12) will join Roozt as a Social Media Intern.

"Fierce Green Fire," a film edited by Society and Business Fellow, Jonathan Beckhardt (MBA '13) was shown at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. 

Congratulations to Society and Business Fellow, Ashkun Zaker (MBA '12) on his engagement to Neelum Babbar. The two look forward to a June 2012 wedding in Northern California.
