Lunch and Learn Series, Spring 2011  

  

The Lunch & Learn series exposes the USC community to issues of social and environmental importance and how business solutions can be used to approach these issues.  Lunch & Learn events are held once a month from 12:30p.m. to 1:50p.m.

The spring semester began with Steve Glenn, CEO of LivingHomes. Glenn spoke to a full house about a new kind of modular home that reduces the ecological footprint of the occupant. | read more

MBA students visit Indian MFI

In the wake of the India microfinance crisis that occurred at the end of last year, a group of SBL Fellows traveled to India and visited one of the leading MFI's, Ujjivan.  Society and Business Lab Fellows Jacob Sullivan, Vince Lazalde and Breana Teubner independently organized the two-week winter break trip to India, which coincided with a very precocious time for India's multibillion-dollar microfinance industry.  In December, in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, government officials passed a set of regulatory measures for the industry in response to borrowers committing suicide due to alleged harassment by MFIs.
