Romeo y Julieta Introduction
A Tobacco Junction New Item
One result of our trip to New Orleans was to go direct with Altadis USA. One new introduction from that is the Reserva Real. Each of these cigars retail for under $5.00 and is a great smoke to pair with a good Brandy.
Since 1875 cigar smokers have had a serious love affair with the legendary Romeo y Julieta cigars.
With a beautiful, hand selected Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, the new Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real makes for a rich and aromatic smoke that will arouse the desires of even the most demanding cigar connoisseur.
Available in many sizes, this exquisite cigar is certain to take America's love affair with Romeo y Julieta to new levels of passion.

Cigar 101 Finding your favorite Cigar
In the last newsletter we talked about how to find your favorite cigar. In addition to that we also need to be aware of the types of food we like to eat and try to pair your cigar taste to the food you are eating. For example Italian spices and a good Mexican meal may go well with a Sun Grown Wrapper, a mild meal such as pasta or a meal with lamb, pork chops or even chicken should be paired with a Connecticut wrapper. One good rule of thumb is that if you have a great meal find a great cigar, a moderate meal smoke a moderately priced cigar.
Remember the darker wrappers or Maduro is more of a full flavor and the lighter wrappers, or Natural, are lighter. Connecticut wrappers like on the Macanudo's is very mild and smooth. Ecuador and Nicaragua can be more spicy or full bodied.
In future newsletters we will discuss pairing your favorite drink with cigars and combining all three, food, drink and cigars.
Don't be afraid to try something new, that's half the fun!

Legislative Update Cigar Rights of America
CRA's MISSION
Cigar Rights of America (CRA) was founded on the principle of fighting for the freedom to enjoy cigars.
CRA is a consumer-based, non-profit public advocacy organization that works at the local, state, and federal level of government to protect the freedoms of cigar enthusiasts. Together, with our constituency of nationwide members, we focus our fight for freedom in two main areas:
Oppose Restrictive Smoking Bans Oppose Taxation of Cigars
Most of the large Cigar Companies endorse this organization. We have been fortunate that most of the attention has been focused on cigarettes, but no longer.
It will only be by the efforts of people like us who stand up and tell those in office what we want will we get what we want, and that is to enjoy fine tobacco.
Most do not know that there was an initial $10.00 PER CIGAR included with the SCHIP bill, but due to the efforts of the cigar companies and even letters from some South American countries it was taken down to the current cap of 41 cents a stick.
These efforts do work, the only question is what your part will be. |
Pipe Corner
Most tobacconist will blend a selection of their own pipe tobacco. It is extremely important that if you are moving that you ask your tobacconist what the blend is. The reason is that you may know the blend as "Blend XYZ", but that name was given to it by whoever made it there in the store. If you move the next store may call that very same blend "Blend 123". All the base ingredients are called the same by the wholesalers, and that is the information you will need. Most reputable stores will give you this information if they know you are moving. Remember that these are proprietary blends and give credit where credit is due.
We have introduced flavors by CAO in Tins. The new flavors are Moontrance, Cherrry Bomb, Bella Vanilla, Eileen's Dream! |

Cuvee Salomon by Cusano Cigars
Ever wonder what a $12.00 cigar tastes like? Well here is your chance! Due to an overstock order at Cusano we got these at a steal, and I am going to pass along the savings to you! These cigars are aged and are the result of up to eight primings instead of the usual three or four in other brands. They have a earthy, woody taste and sport a healthy 7 1/4 X 57 ring guage. This will only last for as long as we hold out stock so hurry!
