Greetings!

This newsletter is the end.

Or is it just a beginning...?

You may be receiving this newsletter for the first time so you could argue it's a beginning.  Or you may be receiving your 34th newsletter and wondering why I am announcing it has come to an end...

But when we decide to bring something in our lives to an end, and begin something else, is this actually an ending or is it just a beginning?

This got me thinking about endings and beginnings and I began to wonder if they are actually the same thing?  When do we actually move from an ending into a beginning?  Or is it just a moment in time when we move between phases, start new challenges and let go of the past?

As this link to the video below will indicate, the Kindred Spirit Network is about to change.  I'm not sure exactly how yet, or precisely when, but it does need to develop and grow.  And that means a change which could equally be explained as an end or a beginning.

If you are receiving the newsletter for teh first time, you may wish to skip the video and go on to read the articles below (unless you are curious of course!).  Feel free to click on the link on the left to the archive of previous newslettters too.

The change that I am about to introduce is simply so that the Kindred Spirit newsletter can reach more people and introduce them to the messages and support that the newsletter and the networking meetings can provide.

So I invite you to watch the video below - its less than 4 minutes and it is a simple, personal message from me, recorded on a very sunny day in my conservatory!  It will take you away from the newsletter to YouTube so please come back after you have watched it!

The Golden Link...
Missing link
"If you need any help" said Jane, "just ask."

"And if I can help in any way too Harry, I'd love to" said John with his usual warm smile.

"Thanks" said Harry, but he was too embarrassed to ask for help.  He hated being stuck where he was and didn't feel worthy of the help.  He walked away, touched by the generosity and love of his friends, but he was determined to succeed alone.  He would keep giving and helping others, knowing that one day, when the time was right, his own success would begin to emerge.

But the days went on and success remained a distant dream.  He kept giving and and helping.   And still success eluded him.

This troubled Harry as he believed that in giving to others, that he would eventually receive the joy, the rewards and the recognition that success would bring.

Finally, he asked a wise sage that knew him well, about his misfortune.  Harry told the sage about his belief that the universe would provide, just as long as he kept giving.

The sage looked at Harry and smiled.

"But you have missed the Golden Link Harry" he said.

Harry was puzzled.  "The Golden Link? What's that?"

The sage took his hand and turned it over.  He touched his palm and then lifted it and placed it on his heart.  "Before this hand can be filled with the success you yearn for, this heart has to accept the help and love that is being offered to you.  Before you can receive back the fruits of your giving, you must accept the love and support that is offered to you.  Those that you have loved and helped wish to return that love.  And you must first accept their  help and love before your receiving can begin.  Acceptance is the golden link that binds giving and receiving together Harry.  Accept what the universe is offering to you with thanks and the riches you deserve will soon be yours."

Harry looked at the Sage and a tear dropped from his eye. He realised that others were trying to help him and he was refusing to allow them to give by refusing to accept their help.  And by not accepting their help he was preventing them from their spirit of giving.  His acceptance of their gifts would allow them to give and  would allow him to receive.

It was simple, obvious and he'd missed it.

The Golden Link.

So he called Jane and he called John.  He thanked them and accepted their help.  And the link was forged and he soon began to receive the very things he had yearned for....

Is it an age thing?

Does it happen when we feel happy or sad?

Can we ever really find it?

The last Kindred Spirit meeting found us discussing the concept of trying to find who we are against a backdrop of challenges and difficulties.

We all agreed that there comes a moment or perhaps moments in our lives when we want the rollercoaster to stop so that we can get off and find our true purpose.  Those days when we feel that our souls are getting suffocated by the pressures of life and worries of survival.  This could be in business, our personal lives or a combination of both.  It could be health issues, bereavement, family upheaval or major change.    For many of us, there comes a moment when we feel so distant from our purpose that we wonder if we will ever find it.

And then something happens.

The sun comes out and warms our cheeks for the first time in weeks...

We notice children playing without a care or worry....

We hear a story of another soul much more tortured and dealing with much greater burdens than those we face....

And a light goes on...

We realise that life is a treasure despite our difficulties.  We realise that our challenges, however great they may feel to us, are always eclipsed by another that we may or may not know.  And we realise that in the triteness of the obvious, there lies a truth that is undeniable.   We are blessed.

The fog clears and the spirit rises.  We feel ourselves lifted by a force much greater than us to a place of peaceful security.  And we accept that there is a purpose to our lives.  One that we must grasp with both hands, and no longer leave lying deep in the recesses of our hearts and minds.

And we step out.  We take a risk.  We show courage.  And we climb back onto the rollercoaster for another spin round the sharp bends and up and down the slopes of life.

During a moment of descent and ascent on my own rollercoaster, I wrote a song (since recorded and circulated to those that came to the meeting) that tried to convey the contrasting emotions of feeling lost but realising that life had so much to offer.

In the spirit of helping others, I share the words to the song in the hope that someone may just realise that life is beautiful, even when we feel lost....

"I'm here somewhere"

If I knew then what I know now
If only I'd been shown somehow
How our lives could be so wonderful

If I had listened to my heart
And if only I had made a start
Now my life would be so colourful

Chorus
So now I'm searching here to find
The answers lost inside my mind
And I'm hoping that I've still got time
-     Time to find me,
'Cos I know I'm here somewhere

If I had followed all my dreams
And known that life's not what it seems
I'd have seen it was so mystical

If I had watched more children play
And seen the beauty of each day
I'd have known that time was magical

Chorus
So now I'm searching here to find
The answers lost inside my mind
And I'm hoping that I've still got time
-     Time to find me,
'Cos I know I'm here somewhere

If I had shared my hopes and fears
With those that loved me through the years
I'd have known that dreams were possible

And if I had left my fears behind
And let my destiny unwind
I'd have found that life was beautiful

Chorus
So now I'm searching here to find
The answers lost inside my mind
And I'm hoping that I've still got time
-     Time to find me,
'Cos I know I'm here somewhere

Mystical Moments
Love Yourself

This Mystical Moment is shared with you by a Kindred Spirit - Sharon Bott.

"I woke that morning from a dream and my first thought was about a book "Angels in My Hair" by Lorna Byrne.  I wasn't sure if I had been dreaming about it or if it was my first thought upon waking, but it was powerfully placed into my consciousness, the moment I opened my eyes.  I decided to enter the book title into You Tube and found a series of interviews and clips about the book which feature Lorna Byrnes life and journey of discovery in the mystical world of Angels.

Later the same day I was on my way to buy some milk from our local store when I passed a charity shop for the "Dogs Trust".  Not owning a dog, I had never really noticed the shop before.  But as I walked past, something inside my head screamed at me to go into the shop.  For a few paces, I dismissed it but the thought would not go away.  Intrigued but believing that the universe was pushing me to enter the shop, I turned round and headed back to the shop.

I walked into the shop and began to browse, not really knowing why I was there or what I was looking for. I glanced across the old paperback books on the shelves and then I saw it.  One hardback book, facing me.  It was "Angels in My Hair " by Lorna Bryne.  I nearly screamed out loud.

I purchased the book and left, amazed at what had just happened.  And of course, I read the book!"

So was this a random coincidence easily explained?  Possibly.

Or was it universally guided?

Mystical even?

You decide.
