Greetings!
How close is the gap between bravery and stupidity? An interesting question when pondering on the direction we take in life.
So is it brave to follow your dreams and live a life of authenticity, or is it stupid and impractical to believe that it's possible to step outside the mainstream view of how to succeed?
As Kindred Spirits we all tread this line each day as we try to reach for our dreams and fulfill our personal ambitions. People tell us we are brave to attempt to build businesses and lives that reflect our inner beliefs whilst they silently look at us and shake their heads in worry and concern for our sanity.
But strive we must. Belief is all. The easy road leads us to the same place as every other easy rider. The hard road leads us to our personal place in history.
So I have prepared this weeks newsletter with the desire to keep you striving to be the best that you can be. Not the best that someone else suggests you should be. Not the best that someone else has achieved ahead of you. But your best. Just you and your journey.
I'm proud to be sharing your journey and know that if you keep the faith in you, it will be the real you that emerges from the mist of mediocrity to become the person who are destined to be.
In love and life

Changing the world...
When we are young, we believe we can change the world and achieve great things. We dream big, we have an imagination without limits and we talk often about how we can impact on all that is wrong within our world.
As we get older and "wiser", we discover that the world resists change and we often lower our sights to enable us to achieve changes in our own countries and communities.
Then we realise that changing our country or communities is hard so we settle for trying to change our families and friends instead. We hope that they can see what we are trying to achieve and support us in our quest.
Then as we enter our final years and we look back on our lives, we realise, perhaps far too late, that the most important change actually begins within us. Real change starts with our own recognition of our soul that yearns to be set free and by listening to its calling. And as we enter our final days, we often realise that if perhaps we had changed first, we could have inspired our families to change too. Then the encouragement we received from our families and friends may have inspired us to be braver, stronger and more determined to succeed. We might even have gone on to change our communities, countries and the world.
Remember that the most important change starts within us and we lead others to change by showing them how we can be.
So ask not for others to change but change yourself first and follow your destiny. Show them how living a life on purpose changes you.
And then you might just change the world.... |

Making a Difference - The Starfish story
I am sure you have heard the starfish story by Loren Eisley but its message is simple but profound for all of us trying to make a difference.
Here is the story... One
day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching
the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?" The
youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If
I don't throw them back, they'll die." "Son,"
the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and
hundreds of starfish? You can't make a difference!"
After
listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then,
smiling at the man, he
said.."I made a difference for that one." ****
Making a difference to one person, one situation or one problem we encounter is all we need to do to make a difference to the world. Being supportive of a friend going through a hard time, listening to a partner that has had a tough day, a reading to a child before bedtime are moments that change lives. And through changing lives, we make a difference and change the world. So when you wonder if you are giving back, making a difference and changing the world, remember that its the tiny, seemingly insignificant things we do that are noticed by the universe. It's not the loud, publicised, "shout from the rooftops" changes that people make that move the world to a new place. Its the billions of acts of kindness that happen in every moment in every place around the globe. So just be there when your children, partner, friends and family need you. Pick up the phone when you are too busy to listen to their troubles and then do just that - listen to them. Offer a word of encouragement to someone you know is struggling with their dreams, their lives or their health. Hug someone when they are lonely. Love someone when they are empty. Cry with someone when they are happy. Sharing our moments with each other is what makes a world of difference. So be the boy or girl that threw back the starfish. And know in your heart that you made a difference.... |

Two Wolves - A Cherokee Parable
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson
about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle
is between two wolves inside us all.
"One is Evil - It is anger, envy,
jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."
"The other is
Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought
about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied:
"The one you
feed." Thanks to Steve Newman for providing this story Click here to go to Steve's website

Books that Inspire Me
"The Present" is an engaging story of a young man's journey to
adulthood, and his search for The Present, a mysterious and elusive
gift he first hears about from a great old man. This Present, according
to the old man, is 'the best present a person can receive.'
Later, when
the young boy becomes a young man, disillusioned with his work and his
life, he returns to ask the old man, once again, to help him find The
Present. The old man responds, 'Only you have the power to find The
Present for yourself.' So the young man embarks on a tireless search
for this magical gift that holds the secret to his personal happiness
and business acumen. It is only after the young man has searched high
and low and given up his relentless pursuit that he relaxes and
discovers The Present - and all the promises it offers.
"The Present"
will help you focus on what will make you happy and successful in your
work and in your personal life. Like the young man, you may find that
it is the best gift you can ever give yourself.

Mystical Moments
Does the universe watch and listen to our thoughts, doubts and fears? I believe so... One day this week, I awoke with a sense of doubt and fear. I sat at my desk wondering and worrying about the future. So I decided to ask myself some searching questions and sat, meditated for a few minutes and released my fears. The phone rang. It was someone with a possible opportunity. An email arrived, with confirmation of a new development. Telephone conversations with friends confirmed my belief in tehefuture. ...And all within one hour of asking the universe for help. A simple coincidence or a response to my questions? You decide....
