Which way round are your binoculars?
The view is so different...
"Just look at the view" said Mike. "I can see every detail on the mountain far away in the distance-these binoculars are brilliant"
"Mine must be broken" said Steve. "Everything seems to be miles away and I can't see the detail at all".
Mike looked across at Steve and laughed. "You've got them the wrong way round! The mountain is there Steve, it's just that you're looking at it in the wrong way."
Steve laughed too and turned his binoculars round and suddenly the mountain came into view- crystal clear and in every detail. He could see each blade of grass, each blossoming flower and each ageing tree. And the beauty of the mountain-his mountain, was close and he felt like he could touch it....

How often do we feel that our goals and dreams are so far out of reach that we simply can't see them anymore? Those dark days when the plans we have made and the actions we have taken already, seem to make no difference to our progress? Its so easy to believe that our dreams must be broken and not worth pursuing as we can't make them real and meaningful. But could it simply be that we are looking at our dreams and goals the wrong way round?
Perhaps we should remember that our dreams, plans and goals are real-just like the mountains in the distance . Our dreams exist in our destiny as well as our hearts. We can achieve them but if we believe they are too far away and beyond us, then they may always remain so. But if we pick up our binoculars and look for every detail of our dream, every moment that we will experience and every success that we will enjoy along the way, the dream feels much closer. Suddenly, we feel a rush of excitement as we start to know that we CAN fulfill our destiny.
So remember that our dream mountain is firmly fixed in our future. How far away it seems is purely down to how we look at it. So which way round are your binoculars?....
