Next meeting
Wednesday, November 25th!
Meeting logo

I have provisionally set the date for our next meeting as Wednesday 25th November, 7.30pm, in Henley In Arden.

However, a number of people have suggested that we meet during the day as the potential venue is set in a beautiful part of the Warwickshire countryside.  Meeting in the dark would not allow us to benefit from the health enhancing and spiritually uplifting setting.

I will be sending out a seperate email shortly but in the meantime, can you let me know if you would be able to attend a meeting from

3.00pm - 5.00pm on
25th November.

Thanks

Paul

Greetings!

Another week; Another 7 days; Another set of highs and lows.

Time spent in hard graft;  Time spent in isolated contemplation;  Time spent with loved ones;

Listening; Learning; Laughing; Loving.

Frustration with lack of progress.  Fun with friends.

Its amazing what you can pack into 7 days isn't it?

And this is the joy of life.  Each day carries with it the opportunity to experience emotions.  And it's emotions that drive everything we do.

Also this week I have spoken with people dealing with illness, relationship difficulties, business challenges and life changing issues.  And I have also spoken to people that are vibrant and healthy, hopelessly in love and making great progress.

This is the complexity of life.  Each life carries with it the opportunity to experience great joy and great sadness - sometimes in equal measure, but often unbalanced.

So what do we do?

Nothing! This is both the joy and the complexity of life.

I hope your next week is just as joyous and complex as this one has no doubt been for you.

In love and life,

Paul

The Lost Generation.
Lost generation

by Jonathon Reed.

Read this slowly...

I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
"Happiness comes from within."
is a lie, and
"Money will make me happy."
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now, I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of                                                                              my divorce
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.

Depressing eh?

Ok, now read it in reverse starting from the bottom and reading upwards.  Then scroll back down to this point.

So what can we learn from this cleverly written poem?

Simply, that the way that we look at situations makes a world of difference.  The facts are the same.  It's our perception and reaction that determines how the facts effect us.

It also represents two very different perspectives on the future.

So next time you have a difficult situation to go through.  Try reversing your perspective and there might just be a very different opportunity that exists within your difficulty.

My thanks to Sharon Bott for providing this poem via a youtube link.

Click on the photo above and it will take you to the youtube video which reads the poem in both directions. Its very powerful.
Spiritual Growth
Growing Up
"Haven't you grown" said Grandma." You'll soon be much taller than me!"

How many times have we heard that said?

We all accept without question that our bodies grow in our early years, and sometimes it's almost as if we can watch our children grow before our eyes.

We know they are growing and don't question the process.

Similarly, we tend to our gardens - planting flowers, shrubs and trees and we fully expect them to grow - as long as we water them and give them food from time to time.

So we understand that nature wants us to grow.  Over millions of years we know that those species that couldn't adapt to the changes that occurred over the lifetime of our planet, have simply withered and died.

We understand too that for anything to grow, it needs to be fed, watered and nurtured and through this process, we watch as our children, our gardens, our careers and our wealth grows before our eyes.

So how about our spiritual growth?   How do we grow "inside"? How can we know that we are indeed growing when we can't see the results of our growth like we can with our bodies, our gardens and all the material aspects of our lives?

The answer is simple.

Believe spiritual growth is possible.

If we open our minds to the possibility that we can grow within ourselves, and we feed our minds and spirits with the openness to intuition, synchronicity and universal energy, we WILL grow.  If we close off our minds to the possibility, we may grow physically but our soul will remain barren and without the knowledge of what is ultimately possible for us.

So accept that you will grow physically and that this will be noticeable.  Accept also that your physical growth will one day decline, and eventually stop.

But the exciting aspect of spiritual growth is that it is never ending.  It's eternal.  Every day we spend in this life is an opportunity to grow; From what we read, to what we watch to what we say to others, spiritual growth is the ONLY growth that you can't see that goes on forever

And together, as a human race, if we grow together spiritually as well as physically, we might actually recognise that whilst our physical bodies may be different, whilst our environments may change, our spiritual core is what unites us.

So focus on your spiritual growth and simply accept that you can grow inside as well as outside.  And you might just surprise yourself.

Oh and Grandma might just notice the change in us too....
Connect with the Universe
Universe
Give yourself permission to get away so that you can camp in the outdoors; swim in a river, lake or ocean; sit by an open fire; ride on horseback; or ski down a mountain slope.  Wherever you live, you're only a few hours (or even moments!) away from being connected to the entire universe.

Books that Inspire Me
Phil Murray
"Knowing yourself, being yourself and contributing your own unique flow to the greater flow of life is all that life will ever ask you"

In this inspirational book, Phil Murray shows how we can achieve fulfillment by making the most of our inherent qualities.  Taking as his image the flow of water, moving from the spring to the stream and eventually to the ocean, Phil explains that our lives are similar.  We can either help ourselves to go with it using our unique qualities, or fight against it and only hinder our progress.  Using stories from his life as a singer and actor to help illustrate this point, The Flow of Life is about encouragement, motivation and a determination to succeed.

Mystical Moments
I had first made contact with Jane following a trip to a chiropractor about 6 months ago.  Her business card was on a table in the treatment room and I picked it up as my chiropractor told me she was involved in training.  I sent her an email and we talked about getting together to discuss joint opportunities and interests.

Jane confirmed she was busy and would be in touch in the future.  6 months later I receive an email from Jane suggesting we meet up.  We set a date and met up in Starbucks.

Both of us heading to the meeting had no idea why we were meeting up.  There was no agenda in advance, no agreed objectives, just a willingness to meet up and see what emerged.

After some initial discussion, Jane introduced me to a concept and product that was a missing piece of my business.  A perfect fit.  The precise tool that I can use to help my clients.

It was then abundantly clear why the universe wanted us to meet up.  We simply got out of the way and let it happen.  And another piece of the jigsaw of life is complete.

Cool.
