Next meeting in November!
In the last issue, I confirmed that the next get together had to be postponed. many of you expressed your disappointment and your desire to meet up - I am grateful for your support and confirm that I will organise an event in November. I believe I now have a potential venue (near Henley in Arden, near Solihull) which is where it all began anyway.
More details will follow and for all those that find Mondays difficult, I will avoid a Monday evening!

Greetings!
For those of you that have been subscribers to my newsletter from day one, you may recall my thoughts on the "rollercoaster" of life and how we just have to ride it. This week has shown me more than ever just how true it is that life is full of highs and lows. Friends, colleagues, business associates and family members have all either been part of my highs and lows or have told me about their own rollercoaster experience. But I think we can push the analogy a little further too so that we can allow the thoughts of the roller coaster ride to help us understand why things happen in the way that they do.
Put simply, you can't have the exhileration of the good times without the strain of the upward climb of our difficulties. On a rollercoaster, the climb comes before the fall. And for all those this week that have shared their difficultuies, they worries, and their concerns about life, get ready.... because by the laws of the universe, the climb will soon become the rush of the fall and every fibre of your being will know it was worth all the effort.
So stick with it - all of it. Every aspect of your life and what happens to you is an opportunity to learn, to listen and to love. I hope the thoughts in this weeks newsletter help you during your climbs and encourages you to celebrate your achievements.
In love and life,
Paul

What's important?

"I'm just upset because I can't buy the presents that I have in the past. I've always been able to buy nice things but this year..."
So how do we show our love? Is it through the quantity and value of our gifts or the time, thoughtfulness and love we show? We all know the answer but how often do we forget? Do our children want our money or our time? Do our partners want our gifts or our attention? Do our customers want bigger discounts or to feel more appreciated?
In our material world, we often believe that our status is judged by the size of our house, our car or by the school our children attend. We judge our success not by our achievements but by the achievements of others.
Yes we all need to have somewhere to live and (probably) need a car to get around. And there is nothing wrong in wanting the best that we can have - this sets an example to our children about ambition and the importance of achievement in our lives. But consider this. At the critical moments in our lives or the lives of our loved ones, friends and associates, do they ask us how big are our houses, cars and bank accounts? Or do they ask us for our presence, our focus, our support and our love?
Nothing can replace love. Those that have none, yearn for it. Those that have it, know it's power and want more of it. And when we share it, and are loved in return, we feel more wonderful than any material possession can ever hope to convey.
So next time you worry that you can't provide a material gift for someone important in your personal or business life, just give them you. Time, thought and love are priceless. Anything else is temporary and can be provided by someone else. Your attention and care is unique. Use it wisely.
My thanks to a Kindred Spirit that was struggling with such a dilemma this week and for sharing so openly with me.

Time is no barrier

It had been over 30 years since they had met. And 2 years since they had finally been in touch via one of the social networking sites that is putting people together all over the world.
As they both journeyed towards the meeting they wondered what it would bring or even why they were meeting up at all. But a joint belief in the power of the universe that guides us was sufficient to bring them together.
They met and whilst they may have been strangers after all this time, with lives that had taken vastly different paths, there were strange coincidences. People that appeared in both lives; events that occured around the same time; a calling to share their experiences with others; a willingness to trust that there is more to life than that we can see.
So he listened intently to the story told of a life burdened with tragedy, loss and hurt. She then listened to life of simplicity, love and togetherness. Vastly different and yet connected by a past long gone.
So what was the purpose of the meeting? Encouragement to continue through life's struggles perhaps? That sharing a burden with a stranger brings a perspective not known before? It simply doesn't matter. Sometimes there is no obvious and immediate purpose, for the purpose is yet to come.
So after minutes that became hours, they parted. Still strangers after 30 years but friends also. Time was no barrier. The years in between were unimportant. It was the present moment that was important and the healing that may have taken place through sharing.
So next time you meet with someone you haven't seen for a long time, or you meet a stranger that you have been drawn to, just listen and feel. The meaningful purpose for your meeting is present, but not necessarily in your conciousness. Time will be no barrier and in time, and at the right time, all will become clear.

Be Inspired
Being an example of inner peace is an effective way of expressing your desire to offer inspiration to others. When you're at peace with your life and in a state of tranquility, you actually send out a vibration of energy that impacts all living creatures, including plants, animals and even babies! Randomly selected from "Inspiration" by Dr Wayne W. Dyer.

Books that Inspire Me

"It all started with a school project: Think of an idea for world change and put it into action.
Whilst this proved a little ambitious for most if his classmates, twelve year old Trevor thought he would start by doing something good for three people. But instead of paying him back, he would ask them to "pay it forward" by doing a favour for three more people. If all went to plan, Trevor thought, it could be the start of a long chain of human kindness....
Sound unlikely? Well other people had their doubts too - Trevor's teacher, his classmates, his mother, in fact everyone in his small California town. It could never really work...could it?"
I read this book a number of years ago and it had a profound effect on me and my outlook on life. As a concept, the idea of "paying it forward" to change the world may be far fetched, but at it's core, the idea is a simple as it is profound. I help you and rather than you help me in return, you go out and help two or three other people. Surely this is networking at its best. The Kindred Spirit Network was founded on this principle.
So if someone has helped you in life or in business, pay it forward. The universe will ensure you are paid back in ways you could never contemplate or imagine...
Note: The book was made into a film, which whilst containing the essence of the story, is more "Hollywood" than the original story.
