Next Meeting
Monday October 5th
The next meeting will include a series of talks, discussions and
material but the main purpose of
the get together will be to meet and share our thoughts on life and
business with other Kindred Spirits. The idea is to help and support
each other in whatever way we feel guided to provide.
Some
housekeeping is required though as I need to book a venue and this
partly depends on how many are likely to attend. Can you therefore let
me know if you are interested in coming along?
There may be a small charge to cover the cost of hiring a room but this will be no more than £10 and you'll be able to bring this with you on the day.
If you think you will want to come, can you let me know by emailing me back.
I'll provide more info about the structure and venue next week!

Greetings!
Welcome to the first online edition of the Kindred Spirits Network newsletter that is actually the 17th edition with the previous editions being in PDF format.
This weekly newsletter is designed to be an extended "blog" of thoughts and musings about intuition, coincidence and the power of the universal energy that we can all tap into from time to time. Based on personal experiences, challenges and breakthroughs, the Kindred Spirit Network newsletter tries to inform and inspire us to think beyond the established "norms" for the answers we are seeking. Using your unique mind, body and spirit combination, I encourage you to look within yourself for your answers and then to others for support.
Our journey through life is entirely an individual experience but we are often encouraged to "do what everone else does" to get through our personal challenges. This newletter hopes to inspire and encourage you to look for your answers in places that you may not have considered before. Within the universal energy (that each of us can reach in moments of reflective silence) is a source of knowing that we are only now begining to explore and understand. The old maxims of the "exclusive" answers that lie within our religion, politics, background, culture and age are being complimented with a new awakening to the power of the energy that connects each of us. Rather than worrying about where it comes from or giving it a name, we simply find it and ask it to help us.

Being Authentic
"Our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most
frightens us.
We ask ourselves - who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented,
fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?"
This is an excerpt from a poem written by Marianne Williamson that is often attributed to Nelson Mandela. Actually, Mandela never actually quoted the poem or used it in any of his speeches but urban legend has long attributed the words to him.
However, the words are awesome as we try to make our leap into the unknown and scary world of becoming authentic in our work and our personal lives. Our unique gifts are often the gifts that frighten us most as they lead us to feelings of emptiness if they lie untapped and undiscovered. But equally, on the discovery that we can in fact use our unique gifts to develop our own lives and the lives of others, we become equally frightened that people will question our motives, laugh at our passions and tell us to "get real". Well, "getting real" is exactly what we should be doing with every breath that we take, every word that we utter and every action we consider. Becoming who we are and trying to blend this into a society that still judges us by our material success more than our character, is a tough call. But it's a call that we can't ignore and we have to face and meet the light that shines within us and let it out into the world. Only then can we truly be who we are and at the same time, shine a beacon of hope on those we meet. So you ARE brilllant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Just let it shine!

Qualifications v Intuition
"Are you qualified" he said looking over his glasses towards
me.
"No, I do not have a degree, I do not have a
certificate and I have had no training" I said, feeling a little
inadequate.
"Then, how can you have a view on such
specialist matters?" he said in disgust. "I have studied this subject
for years and therefore I am far more qualified than you to help others in this
area"
How often do we believe that specialists,
educationalists, and "experts" have all the answers and that we mere
mortals really don't have a clue about life and how to find the answers to our challenges?
Well, I'd like to proclaim that it is precisely because we haven't studied, we
haven't dismissed alternative views and we haven't closed our minds to what
could be, that we are just as entitled to a view. And this is no more
apparent than in the field of spiritual and personal development. The
lack of "qualifications" actually frees the spirit to search amongst
all the doctrines, methods and possibilities without fear of an intellectual and
educational blockage.
Study your soul and search for its direction.
Then listen, learn, decide and act.
