Arrival Ceremony kicks-off 2011 National Finals
50 young women embark on a two week long journey culminating in the selection of the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2011 | | Distinguished Young Women Arrival Ceremony |
Citizens of the Gulf Coast, local officials, host families and sponsors joined together at the Mobile Regional Airport yesterday to welcome the Distinguished Young Women Class of 2011 to Mobile, Al abama for the 54th National Finals. The ceremony marked the start of a jam-packed two weeks of events, activities and rehearsals that will conclude on Saturday, June 25 with the selection of the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2011. While in Mobile, each state representative will live with a host family, a tradition that dates back to the beginning of the program in 1958. The citizens of the Gulf Coast open their arms to each of these young women and help make the National Finals experience one that remains with each participant for a lifetime. We are thrilled to have the most outstanding young women the country has to offer with us for National Finals and look forward to impacting the lives of these girls in a positive and lasting way.
___________________________________________________________ Connect with Distinguished Young Women during National Finals!! Follow along with the activities and events over the next two weeks via the Distinguished Young Women Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages. We will be updating frequently and look forward to showcasing the experiences of the Class of 2011.

Distinguished Young Women launches redesigned website

Just in time for National Finals, Distinguished Young Women launched a newly designed website last week. The goal in updating the site was to provide a more user-friendly experience and to improve navigability throughout the site. The new look is colorful and fresh, and geared toward attracting potential program participants.
As with all projects of this nature, there are a few remaining glitches to iron out and we ask for your patience while we complete this transition.
Check out the new site at
www.DistinguishedYW.org
Thank you to TeleVox Software for their generous support in redesigning and launching the website.
