Distinguished Young Women Celebrates Heroes
| Madison performs and speaks in front of a group of 4th grade students at the Young Americans for Freedom Celebration. |
Each November we take a day to honor our nation's heroes and celebrate the freedoms their service gives us. This year Madison Leonard, Distinguished Young Woman of America, visited Mobile to celebrate this special day with the Mobile Bay Veterans' Day Commission. Madison attended the VIP Dinner, was a special guest in the Veterans' Day parade, and spoke to a group of fourth grade students at the Young Americans for Freedom Celebration. Madison explained to the students that the best way for each of them to honor veterans is to be their best selves.
During her visit Madison also visited some of the national sponsors, like Regions Bank, Alabama Power Company and Mobile Gas, a Sempra Company. She then joined other past participants at the Sunday Night Sensation where she performed and spoke to the attendees.

Sunday Night Sensation
Distinguished Young Women supporters from Mobile, AL gathered at Ruth's Chris Steak House for an elegant dining experience featuring local celebrity servers, hosts, chefs and The Distinguished Young Woman of America, Madison Leonard. Tips were given to servers that were asked to do outlandish things. Tips were also given after performances from Madison and our guest Distinguished Young Women that attend University of South Alabama. Through ticket sales, tips, and auction items Distinguished Young Women raised right under $30,000. The night was a huge success and we would like to thank those people and organizations that made the evening possible. Please click here to see our servers, committee members and sponsors. Make your tip to Distinguished Young Women!
