Thank You to Our Sponsors Wintzell's Oyster House has been a long time sponsor of Distinguished Young Women.
 | 2010 Oyster Eating Contest. |
Wintzell's Oyster House has been known for years as the sponsor of the annual Oyster Eating Contest during National's Finals. Yes, each year the Mobile based seafood restaurant provides an unlimited supply of raw oysters to the state contestants to see who can slurp down the most without....well you get the picture.
But did you know that Wintzell's also sponsors other events to raise money for Distinguished Young Women, including a golf tournament and a tennis classic?
 | 2010 Tennis Classic |
Last month, Wintzell's served as the title sponsor of the 2nd Annual Ladies Tennis Classic. On September 23, more than 75 ladies from Mobile and Baldwin County participated in the tournament. Distinguished Young Women raised $8,000 and had a blast doing it! See list of our winning teams and gracious sponsors.
Wintzell's Oyster House hosted a Golf Tournament on June 18 at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, AL. The tournament was a huge success and raised $15,000! Junior Miss girls were able to mingle with the players before the shotgun start and America's Junior Miss 2009, Michelle Rodgers presented awards to the winning teams. Owners Bob and Buffy Donlon decided to start the Wintzell's Golf Classic in 2007 to further Distinguished Young Women. | Class of 2010 with Golf Tournament players. |
