Pepsi Gulf
You've probably seen a few messages lately about how we need your help to win a $250K grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project. Okay, maybe more than a few (an email every day, Facebook and Twitter announcements galore, and now another reminder in the newsletter). We hope our "friendly reminders" have been helpful in keeping everyone involved in the project. After all, we can't do it alone and every vote gets us closer to winning!

Thank you for voting and sharing our reminders with your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. We're almost there and hope that soon we can all celebrate together! Until then, please keep up your hard work! Let's finish strong and show the world what the Distinguished Young Women family can do when we work together! THANK YOU!
New Look and More!
Distinguished Young Women website gets some updates. DistinguishedYW Website

With the updates to our program name, logos and colors its only natural that the Distinguished Young Women website is getting some updates, too. And wow! Check out these updates!

Thanks to the assistance of our sponsor, Televox, the website will soon move to its new web address, but until it does you can visit www.DistinguishedYW.org to be redirected to the old site until the new one is ready. We encourage you to use the new web address to tell others about our program and get our new name out there faster.

The homepage nowhas the new name, new colors and a new movie that tells more about who we are. The Join Us tab now drops down to give visitors more ways to get involved with Distingushed Young Women. And COMING SOON is a feature on the homepage that will take you to your program page by zip code.

The updates to our homepage are just a glimpse of what is to come, Changing the name, language and colors throughout the entire site is a priority, as is giving state and local program pages a more prominent and easily accessible place on the site.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work at making the Distinguished Young Women website the best  that it can be for everyone.

BJP & Madison
From the Executive Director
Becky Jo Peterson
I am so blessed to be a part of this fabulous program.  This year has been the most challenging and the most rewarding in my five year tenure as Executive Director here in Mobile.  I'm grateful to our courageous and dedicated Board of Directors for their hard work in the process of determining the strategy to move this organization forward.  They attended many meetings, read reports, participated in surveys and interviews, and raised funds - all to see this project through.  We are excited about the new name and believe it reflects the quality of our program and the quality of the participants and volunteers.  Allow yourself some time to get used to the words Distinguished Young Women and know we are doing all we can to assist state and local programs in the transition.  Our Public Relations firm, Tucker PR is pitching stories across the country to help get the word out through mass media.  We are grateful for all the volunteers at every level of Distinguished Young Women and ask that they bear with us through this transition and renew their dedication to continuing to provide a life changing experience as well as scholarships to young women in their communities.  A new fiscal year is upon us beginning October 1 and we look for great things - hopefully starting off with a $250,000 grant from Pepsi!  Please keep voting!
