Meet Madison Leonard, Distinguished Young Woman of America 2010!!
 Madison Leonard

Madison Leonard of Idaho is the first winner of the newly renamed Distinguished Young Women scholarship program (formerly America's Junior Miss), earning the title of Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2010. 
 
In her hometown of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Madison graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School, where she was named salutatorian, participated in musical theater and was a member of the varsity tennis team. 
 
Winning more than $50,000 in college scholarships and a gold medallion symbolizing her achievements within the classroom and extracurricular activities, Madison plans to attend Pepperdine University, where she will study music performance and journalism in the fall.
 
Madison is the program's first-ever winner from Idaho. At the 2010 National Finals in Mobile, Alabama, she performed "The Nearness of You" by Hoagy Carmichael on vocals and piano. 
 
Madison leads the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls into a new phase, with a new name and program updates that better reflect the organization and its efforts to remain relevant and keep pace with the needs and interests of today's young women.
