We are excited to announce we have hired a new Director of Development! Rod Ossowski will be joining the Rivermont Family on November 1st, 2012. Rod comes to us with a vast array of knowledge and experience - endowment and annual fund campaigns, auction and golf event organization, alumni relations, grant writing, and major donor solicitation are just a few of his skills.
Rod has spent the last 6 years as Director of Development at Family Resources in Davenport. Although locally raised, he has also spent time at Prescott College in Arizona as Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Relations. Prescott is a small private college and Rod loved the family feel and positive learning environment, which he feels he has found again here at Rivermont. Join us in welcoming Rod to the Rivermont Family!
Doin' It With Distinctiveness
Showcasing what sets Rivermont apart
From holding a door open for a visitor to helping an injured classmate, students do things daily that help create the nurturing, caring environment we know as Rivermont. Character education is a unique part of the Rivermont Experience, where faculty stress character-building and a spirit of community service, rewarding students that contribute to our climate of positivity, honesty, respect, compassion, and enthusiasm.
The Student Hunger Drive kicked off this week and the whole school participated in Cancer Awareness/Pink Out Day. So far this year, students have also organized a Domestic Violence Shelter Clothing Drive and Pennies for Paws - and students of all ages pop in to the Business Office to redeem Kudos received for acts of thoughtfulness. Of course, character is learned through the experiences of daily life - at school AND home - so we join Rivermont families in the task of maximizing each student's Intellect, Character, and Creativity!
