We are sad to share that Carey DeWitt has submitted her resignation. Carey has been a member of the Rivermont faculty for 12 years, during which she has served the School as Fifth Grade Teacher, Track Coach, Sunshine Committee Coordinator, and most recently as Lower School Science and Middle School Math Teacher. Carey's anticipated last day will be October 19, 2012. Many have greatly enjoyed working with her and she will be missed. Please join us in thanking Carey for her dedication to Rivermont and wishing her the best in her future endeavors. | |
Doin' It With Distinctiveness
Showcasing what sets Rivermont apart
As an intro to World Geography, 6th graders explore land formations, bodies of water, and how they interact to shape the world. ImagiNation allows students to create their own land mass and determine the placement of mountains, rivers, coasts, and lakes. They then assign appropriate climates and ecosystems, analyzing proximity to the equator, amount of rainfall that would typically be received, and varied elevations of their ImagiNation.
Throughout the year, students will use their ImagiNations to complete various scenarios such as trade, conflict, and political issues.
