Dear Rivermont Community,

Congratulations to the Class of 2012!  This year's class has finished their AP exams and projects and are currently involved in their Senior Projects.  These projects place our students in professional environments that give them first-hand exposure to their chosen professions.  The students will make formal presentations of their projects on Wednesday, May 30 at 5:30 PM in the Auditorium.  Everyone is invited to this special program that is the culmination of a Rivermont education.

Rivermont Bus Service Update

Beginning with the 2012-13 school year, Rivermont will no longer be able to provide morning and afternoon bus route service. Extremely low utilization and high costs have caused us to suspend this service. In order to alleviate some of the inconvenience this creates, we will be extending our morning hours. Beginning with the 2012-13 school year, Early Supervision for K-12 will start at 7:00AM. This allows parents time to drop their student(s) off and still get to work in a timely manner.

Early Supervision Extended Hours!

Rivermont would like to announce that we are extending our Early Supervision hours. Beginning with the 2012-13 school year, Early Supervision for K-12 will start at 7:00AM. Early Supervision will run until 7:45AM at which time students will be allowed to go to their respective buildings. Middle and Upper School students can proceed to the Mansion Reading Room and Lower School students will proceed to the Media Center/Library. Light breakfast items will be available for purchase for during the Early Supervision hours.

PLEASE NOTE, THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO BUS SERVICE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

My reading list is growing, just like the grass!  How are you coming on yours?

TODAY, Friday, May 18th Rivermont Parents' Council is hosting a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Northpark Mall.  We are extremely excited about this - there is something for everyone!

Since it is a Friday, we are hoping all Rivermont families can stop by after school and make this a fun social event, too!  Rumors of a special story time with the Headmaster at five and six p.m. are absolutely true.  Tables will be set up with books from Rivermont summer reading lists. Remember, this is for the whole family.  All purchases count (even from the café).  While shopping for the kids, be sure and pick yourself up a new cookbook, music, or a DVD!

Vouchers will be available at all registers - simply mention you are with Rivermont and a percentage of your purchase will be donated and help fund activities at Rivermont.  Pack a double whammy by purchasing SCRIP gift cards to Barnes & Noble (B&N SCRIP cards are available right now at Ms. Burrell's desk) to use at the Book Fair.  In addition, Chick-fil-A in the food court is donating a percentage of purchases back to Rivermont - so have dinner, too!

All friends of Rivermont - students, parents, grandparents, alumni, board members, faculty, and staff - can help!

The Book Fair is also online - log on to www.bn.com/bookfairs and enter the ID number 10755114 between May 19-22nd and Rivermont will receive between 10-15% of total purchases (higher percentage achieved as total sale dollars increase)

Be sure to stop by this evening!  This is going to be fun!

P.S. The last day to order SCRIP is Wednesday, May 23rd; please have orders in by 3:30 p.m. Questions? Contact Melissa Sears at (563) 343-5652 or jmlsears@mchsi.com.

Thank You for your support of our Annual Fund!
