 Welcome to Rivermont
Jim Bisenius

Bully-Proofing Youth is a practical and effective bullying prevention program designed for children grades 1-12.  It teaches students what kids who target look for in those they pick on and how to stop giving those reactions. Through assemblies, workshops, and group trainings, therapist Jim Bisenius instructs students, teachers, and parents in ways to eliminate bullying behavior.  Jim's presentations are delivered in an extremely entertaining and interactive manner using humor, drawings, story-telling, and role-playing.

Mr. Bisenius will lead a Faculty Workshop on Monday and K-12 Student Workshops Monday & Tuesday.

Starve Bullying Behaviors

Much like a stray dog or cat, kids who bully others continue to target those who feed them.  Bully-Proofing Youth will teach students, school staff, and parents exactly what kids who bully look for and how to specifically respond to "starve" bullying behavior.

Parent Workshop

The parent anti-bullying training will cover exactly how to teach your child to respond to verbal bullying, physical bullying, social bullying, and group manipulation.  Parents will walk away with concrete tools that they can immediately implement and help their child master in order to eliminate bullying from his or her life.  Participants will learn specifically how "popular" bullies isolate, control and manipulate their peers.  Then they will learn exactly what steps their son or daughter must take to stop them.  In addition, parents will be able to use all of these techniques in their own life to deal with controlling or intimidating adults.

We hope that at least one parent from each family, Early School through Upper School will be able to attend.  Feel free to invite your friends.

2011-12 Annual Fund Classroom Challenge
Final Week of Challenge!
Help us reach 100%

The 2011-12 Annual Fund is underway!  The Classroom Challenge kicked off this week - your student(s) should have brought home information and donation envelopes.  When we pursue funding from foundations, a standard question is, 'What percent of your parents, faculty, and trustees donate?'  We would like to say 100%!  Faculty/staff and trustees have contributed 100% to this year's Annual Fund.  Last year, 76% of Rivermont parents participated; Parents' Council urges parents to match trustee and faculty 100% participation.

Please consider making your donation today!  If you have already donated, your donation will count towards the Classroom Challenge and we thank you for your support!  Contribute a minimum of $5.00 between now and March 9 to help your student(s)' classroom be eligible for special rewards!
 Annual Fund Classroom Challenge Image
Each class, PS-8th, to reach 100% participation by March 9 will receive an ice cream party!  Each class, 9th-12th, to reach 100% participation by March 9 will receive a pizza party!  In addition, the FIRST class, PS-8th, and the FIRST class, 9th-12th, to reach 100% participation will receive an extra surprise!

Note: One donation applies to all children in your family.
