 In the last issue of HEADlines, we failed to recognize all awards that Rivermont sixth grader Jake Vaughn received at the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa: 

Champion in Overall Junior High Physical Science Division

1st Place in 6th Grade Physical Science Division

Broadcom Masters Junior High Finalist

University of Iowa College of Engineering Award

In addition, Rivermont senior Basilia Koster was omitted from the list of student artists featured at the 34th Annual High School Invitational at the Quad City Arts Center.

Plan To Attend!

What: iPad2 Tablet Distribution

When: Tuesday, May 3rd - 3:45 p.m.

Where: Mansion 3rd Floor Computer Lab

The Class of 2015 (current 8th grade) and their parents should plan to join us as we distribute the iPad2 tablets!  Students and parents will both sign a user agreement and set up an iTunes account.

It is important for parents to attend this meeting with their students!

Channel 4 News will be on campus to document this exciting event!

Sneak Peek!

Stop in to Central Hall next week (Monday, May 2nd - Friday, May 6th) for a sneak peek at this year's silent auction items, which will be on display.  This is a great time to set your strategy for winning that must-have item!

This year's event will be held Saturday, May 7th at The Outing Club in Davenport.  For those who cannot attend, don't forget to take advantage of our proxy bidding system!  Proxy bid forms are available at both front desks on campus (Mansion and Becherer Hall)!

Raffle tickets were sent home with students early this week and are also available at the front desk in both the Mansion and Becherer Hall.

Classes are filling up!  We have many opportunities for families to visit our campus, participate in activities, and even join in our classes.  Friends, neighbors, and co-workers are welcome to join us for any of the events below - or just call to schedule a personal visit.  Also, don't forget about Summer Adventures at Rivermont - students from any school may attend these terrific summer classes!

Open Tours - Tuesday, May 3rd - 8:30-10:00 a.m.

Drop in for informal open tours, held the first Tuesday of every month!  No appointment necessary!

Young Scholars - Thursday, May 5th - 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Children ages 2-4 (and an accompanying adult) are invited to join us for stories, crafts, games, and new friends!  Young Scholars is held the first Thursday of each month.

Summer Adventures

Keep young minds sharp over the summer with educational programs at Rivermont!  An assortment of classes are offered for children from preschool age and up and cover a wide variety of interests - from cooking to poetry to microbiology!  Students from ANY school may register for Summer Adventures.
