The Rivermont Experience
Dear Rivermont Community,
Maps and charts and display boards, Oh My! It must be Academic Fair. Since late fall Rivermont students have been busy researching, experimenting and developing their projects for the Thursday, February 10th event. In a display of cross-discipline investigation, Rivermont students have tackled questions and theories in history, geography, genealogy, service learning and yes - even science. Building on the enthusiasm and inquiry of a science fair, Rivermont's Academic Fair provides students with the opportunity to conduct an in-depth inquiry into a topic that interests them. The gym becomes a maze of tables with display boards, computers, projectors and hands-on displays. Our scholars will be on hand to explain their project and answer questions. The event will spill over into the auditorium where significant individuals from around the world and time come to life on our stage thanks to the magic of our 7th graders. Judges will meet with our resident scholars throughout the day to assess and evaluate research, presentation and knowledge. Juniors will present their service learning projects on Tuesday, February 8 at 1:00 PM before their peers, faculty, parents and invited judges.
This is one of Rivermont's most exciting events and a great opportunity for your friends, neighbors, and colleagues to share in the Rivermont Experience!
