Dear Rivermont Community,
International Week
Rivermont will be celebrating International
Week March 1-5 culminating with the International FoodFest Friday afternoon.
Throughout the week student learning will be culturally enriched across the
curriculum. Each day has a different theme to help students engage in the
cultural experience.
Monday: World Story/Fable Day (students can
bring in books written in other languages or fairy tales from other
countries.)
Tuesday: Souvenir/Hello Day (LS students
can share a souvenir in their class while MS/US can showcase their souvenirs on
a table in Central Hall) How many ways can you say "Hello!" throughout the
day?
Wednesday: World Costume Day (Proudly wear
a costume from your favorite country and participate in the International Parade
at an all school Morning Meeting!)
Thursday: International Game Day (Bring
your favorite international game to share with your
class) In the Lower School, this will be German Culture Day. Students will "visit" cities in Germany to experience music and art, learn geography, sample food, and play games to celebrate the Year of Germany.
Friday: International T-shirt/Hat Day
(Wear your favorite t-shirt and/or hat from another
country!) Also on Friday, Rivermont parent Bettinna Bolger will be
teaching Grades 1-12 how to dance Latino style! Students prepare to get your
world groove on!

Tuition Assistance
Rivermont's tuition assistance program is designed to help the School enroll an academically talented and socially and economically diverse student body. The School commits a percentage of its operating budget to need-based tuition assistance along with endowed funds donated to support the School's economic diversity.
Kindergarten through Grade 12 families interested in applying for tuition assistance are directed to the School's website where the procedure is outlined and links to the necessary forms can be found. Rivermont enlists the services of School & Student Service by NAIS to calculate a family's estimated contribution to tuition. This calculation and the resources available at Rivermont are then considered by the Tuition Assistance Committee in recommending or denying a grant. Interested families should begin the process immediately as funds are limited.
Feel free to contact Business Manager, Jenny Nicol for additional information. nicol@rvmt.org or (563) 359-1355, ext. 315.

Parents' Council
Red Wheel Fundraiser
Parents' Council is excited
to introduce a new fundraising opportunity to Rivermont. Instead of a Spring
Book Fair, students in grades K-12 will be bringing home order forms today from
Red Wheel to sell refrigerated food products. Parents of PS-JrK are welcome to
order from students in K-12 to support the fundraiser. The proceeds from the
sale will benefit Rivermont Collegiate. Please take a few minutes to review
with your child the available products and order form. Please collect checks
(payable to Rivermont Parents' Council) at the time of ordering
and note the pick up date. Because these items are perishable, it is
imperative that you pick up the ordered products on
Thursday, March 25. The students have an early dismissal that
day so pick up time for the products has been set for
11:15am-12:15pm.
Rivermont does not have the freezer
capacity to store these items so please make arrangements for your products to
be picked up on March 25 from 11:15am-12:15pm. After you pick
up your products on March 25, you will be responsible for delivering the
products to the people who ordered from your student. Order forms and
checks are due back to the school on Monday, March 8. Please direct any
questions to Amy Lucas at amybettendorf@hotmail.com.
Thanks for your support of this new fundraiser.
