V-Day Success in 2011
For two nights at the end of February, Upper Fellowship Hall at First Church, Congregational, was filled to capacity with women wearing red and black in solidarity with the actors of V-Day Bedford, 2011, in performances of Eve Ensler's classic Vagina Monologues.
Congratulations to Linda Christen who brought the performance to Bedford; to Director Bridget Elston Scholnik; and to the cast and crew!
Describing the camaraderie among the cast, actor Sally Okoniewski said, "Apart from the importance of the message, the actors are an amazing, multigenerational group of strong women, from their teens to their seventies -- every decade was on stage."
The performance also delighted audience member Doris Webber, an honorary member of BCA in recognition of her long-term support of our organization. "I've now seen the Monologues several times, and I think this one is the best," she continued. "It seems to have benefited from editing over the years."

Net proceeds from the performances will benefit the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center; The Center for Healing of Merrimac Valley/Lowell and the V-Day 2011 Spotlight on Haiti Campaign.
