Monthly BCA activities for January

Studio Artists' Breakfast: Join Mary Johannessen and other local studio artists for coffee and conversation on Tuesday, January 4 at 8 am in the BCA Space. BYOB (bring your own breakfast) - BCA's brewing the coffee.

Third Friday Crafternoons: This month, the Third Friday Crafters will be making winter-themed projects.

There's no fee, and no need to pre-register. Adults and kids of all ages are invited to turn up in the BCA Space on the ground floor of Old Town Hall (16 South Road) between 3 and 6 pm on January 21 and enjoy!

Play-Reading Group: On Wednesday, February 2, Lois Pulliam will lead a reading of The Madwoman of Chaillot, Jean Giraudoux's 1943 satire about Aurelia and her friends, the 'little people" who rail against business and government.

The New York Drama Critics' Circle hailed the 1948-50 production as "one of the most interesting and rewarding plays to have been written within the last twenty years", "pure gold, with no base metal", and having "an enveloping and irresistible humor."

Going around the room, each person in sequence reads the next speech, assuring everyone an equal chance at the good parts as well as the not-so-wonderful ones -- and occasionally matching unlikely voices and characters! There's no fee, but please click here to let us know that you'd like to participate!
BCA Members ~ Out & About
Glass artist Mary Johannessen is hosting 'Play Dates' at Studio 200 on Old Billerica Road this winter for those interested in exploring the magic of fused glass by creating suncatchers or small pieces of jewelry in the company of friends. Check her website for details.

In addition to hosting Bedford Common, Bedford TV's monthly television magazine focusing on town issues and activities with Ron Cordes, Julie Turner has begun Common Focus, a new program that will introduce interesting individuals around town. The first program features Library Director Richard Callaghan and airs on Channel 8/38 at 6 pm on Sundays as well as at other times through the month. Click to check the weekly program schedule on Bedford TV.

The next time you're in the BCA Space at Old Town Hall, take note of the handsome calendar donated by avian photographer Mike Milicia. Click here to learn more about Mike and his photographs.
