Bedford Cultural Council Awards Massachusetts Cultural Council distributed locally
Bedford Center for
the Arts is pleased and grateful to announce that our grant application in
support of Third Friday Crafternoons was funded in
the most recent round of Massachusetts Cultural Council grants administered by
Bedford's Local Cultural Council.
In other grants the council also awarded grants to local film maker Matthew Nerney for In
the Eyes of the Other, and to Bedford's own composer Halsey Burgund for Scapes.
With Cultural Council funding Bedford Community
Access Television will produce Bedford Photographers Showcase with their grant; the Council on Aging will present Thirteen Things about Ed.
Children's activities were also supported. Bedford's 4-H program received funding for their Farm to Community program. The Council also
funded the C.A.S.E Collaborative (Concord Area Special Education) Music
Enrichment for Special Needs Children.
Under the Council's Pass Grant program, Shawsheen Valley
Technical High School students will visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
and Lane School students will go to the Lowell National Historical
Park and Minuteman National Historic Park.
Additional support will go to a multi-town effort on behalf of the Spring Issue of Wild
Apples magazine.
Cultural Council
funding is available annually with applications due between September 1 and
October 15 each year. Visit the Massachusetts Cultural Council web site to
