Dear ,

Christmas is just two days away, and I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. In addition to the holidays going on this time of year, I was lucky enough to share an extra special moment with my daughter recently. This week I want to share that experience with you because it is a classic example of the reason we all need to set goals and live in "the right" moments.

What Moments Do You Live In?
By: Dr. Tim

My daughter is in an interview for Harvard right now.  I am at a quaint cafe across the street waiting for her while she interviews.  As I sit here, a flood of memories overwhelms me, and I can’t help but think about where the time has gone.

It seems like yesterday that I delivered her.  On the day she was born, I happened to be doing my OB rotation in medical school, so I had the privilege of actually bringing her into this world.  She and I have always had a special father/daughter bond, and it is stronger now than ever.

Still.....Harvard, my daughter?  She has worked hard, and she has earned it.  As she nears the end of her first semester as a senior in high school, she has a 4.0 GPA.  She earned a 34 on her ACT. She has always been encouraged to set high goals and standards, and I am proud to say she has accomplished so much more than I ever imagined she would when I first held her in my arms nearly 18 years ago.

For those of you that do not know my life story, I was the first member of the Reynolds family to graduate from high school.  And I was already a father when I started medical school.  Now, a generation later, my daughter is interviewing for Harvard.

My daughter is living proof that setting goals and working towards them is the best and only way to accomplish your dreams.  Sometimes you may have to give up on the “at the moment” things in order to accomplish the bigger picture.  While many kids her age have spent the last four years living “Friday-night-to-Friday-night,” my daughter has been living “Big-Dream-to-Big-Dream.”  She never gave in to the many peer-pressures that abound our teens today.  She knew one night of fun was not worth compromising a lifetime of success.

What about you?  Do you only live in the moment, or do you live in the moments that will help launch your success?  Simply by making a decision, having a dream and then going after it with everything you have, you have the ability to shape the course of your life. You can change your circumstances.
Humans are the only creatures on earth with that ability.  We can decide that today is the changing point.  Tomorrow will be different.  The past does not equal the future.  Just because you have done something one way for years does not mean you have to continue doing it that way.

As 2009 comes to an end, take time to reflect on your life. Decide what you are happy with in your life and decide what you need to change.

In next weeks newsletter I will share with you my method on how I end one year and start the next. My method might be good for you to use too.

Until then, I am so very proud of my daughter. I am a very lucky dad.

Take Back Your Life

Nine years ago, I was an emergency room physician living a miserable life and dreading going to work every day because of the monotony.

Then an event happened that changed my life and started me on a new path to living the life I'd always dreamed about.  Now I am still a physician, but I also take monthly vacations, own or am part owner of seven businesses and am a proud husband and father to five beautiful, talented, kids.

I want to help you change your life too.  If you want to follow my proven plan, The Polaris Principle, then pre-register to receive information about the new DVD Series and activity book I will release this January  in conjunction with Early to Rise and Total Health Breakthroughs.

Simply e-mail your name to iwantmylifeback@timreynoldsmd.com to be put on the contact list when the program that will positively change your life forever is released.
