Birthdays are a great time for reflection. I celebrated my birthday on Monday, and I used part of the day to reflect on where my life is at and where I want it to go.
From developing a health plan to building financial success, any life coach will tell you, "If you don't know where you're going, you'll never get there."
I take that a step further and add, "If you don't evaluate the goals you have set, you won't know if you are on your way to achieving them."
I always allot time on my birthday to evaluate my life's goals, and sometimes, to create new ones.
This year, I asked myself these questions:
1) Have I done the things I thought I would do with my life by now?
2) Am I happy with who I am and what I have become?
3) Do any of my relationships need repair, or should I end any relationships because they are weighing me down?
4) Where do I want to be five years from today, and what steps do I need to take to make that happen?
My answers, of course, were mixed. But I knew if I didn't honestly answer those questions, five years would go by and nothing may have changed in my life. Now I can make a conscious decision to improve my life throughout the next year so I can ensure I stay on track to reaching my goals.
What about you?
