Greetings!

Everyone has different ways of dealing with the ins-and-outs of day-to-day life, and one of the most effective tools Dr. Tim has found to deal with life's issues is journaling.

In this week's article, Dr. Tim will share with you five easy-to-follow tips for how to start your own journal.  He'll also share with you entries from his journal this week during his trip to Alaska.
Journaling Your Way to Inner Peace

journal
By Dr. Tim Reynolds

I have written in journals since I was in high school. There have been periods when I didn't write anything, but I treasure the writings I do have as they show how I have grown and matured over the years.

It is hilarious to get out a journal from my high school days and see the things I thought were important back then. Many of the "huge problems" I had at the time I cannot even remember now.

I have journals from high school, military days, college, medical school, residency, raising children, traveling and adventures.  I treasure them all because it is amazing how much we forget if we have no record of it.

A good friend of mine asked me recently what types of things I journal.  He was feeling stuck because he was writing down everything he did daily and figured I might have some journaling tips.

Tip 1: Start Today
The first tip I have for you is start journaling today.  I believe it is one of the most powerful tools you can cultivate.

Tip 2: Summarize & Evaluate
A common misconception with journaling is that you should write down everything that happened in a day.  A journal is not meant to be an hour-by-hour ledger of your day but rather your reflection on the day.

Journaling Alaska : A Peak Into Dr. Tim's Life

We had a great night's sleep last night in Anchorage and got up this morning around 7 a.m..  On our way out of the hotel we stopped by the gift shop for some AA batteries and found some really cool Alaska coats on sale for $30, so we bought two.

Then we drove about 4.5 hours up HWY 1 through beautiful Alaska to Denali, arriving at Denali National Park around 12:30.

Just past the entrance to the park was an incredibly huge and fast river.  In addition, up on the hill overlooking the park was beautiful Denali Park Lodge.  We drove up to the lodge just to get a look around.

Once inside the park we made a brief stop at the Visitor's Center and then drove as far as they would allow car traffic into the park, about 15 miles. On the way in we spotted a large cat lying up on a hill overlooking the road.  As we took pictures, someone realized it was a Lynx.  That was awesome. I had never seen, nor did I think I would ever see, a Lynx in the wild.

Change Your Life ...

attitude_gratitudeNine years ago, I was an emergency room physician living a miserable life and dreading going to work every day because of the monotony.

Then an event happened that changed my life and started me on a new path to living the life I'd always dreamed about.  Now I am still a physician, but I also take monthly vacations (I'm in Alaska right now), own or am part owner of seven businesses and am a proud husband and father to five beautiful, talented kids.

I want to help you change your life too.  If you want to follow my proven plan, then pre-register to receive information about the new DVD Series and Take Back Your Life Journal program I will release this September in conjunction with Early to Rise and Total Health Breakthroughs.

Simply e-mail your name to iwantmylifeback@timreynoldsmd.com to be put on the contact list when the program that will positively change your life forever is released.
