Antique Rug Market Takes Flight Last month the Wall Street Journal reported the record sale at Christie's of an antique Persian rug for $9.6 million, 20 times the asking price and several months earlier a rug sold at Sotheby's for $4.3 million. Summer Flip Flop
Whether you own one of our coveted antiques or one of our hand-knotted contemporary or reproduction rugs, we recommend that you rotate the rug from sunny areas to equalize the effects of the sun. Continuous exposure to bright hot sun rays and even indirect sunlight will cause damage to the dyed wool and silk used in Oriental rugs. On bright sunny days, use window shades, shutters or heavy curtains to reduce potential sun fading. |
