Designer Highlights on Facebook All of us at Moattar, Ltd. enjoy contributing to the creative process that talented designers challenge us with every day. The whirlwind of pulling together rugs, fabric, furniture and decorative pieces culminates in a beautiful space that we so often miss out on seeing. Fortunately we sometimes do get an opportunity to see the fantastic work that our designer clients create. This month we are featuring two projects by Nina Nash and Don Easterling of Beverly Hall on our Facebook page. Check out their work and if you have any snapshots from your favorite projects using a Moattar rug we'd love to see them. Send them to matt@moattar.com so we can showcase them. |
Did You Know... Oriental has a few meanings? Most people are familiar with the definition of having characteristics of the "east" or "east of Europe". But there are a few others that are particular to rugs. The process of "orienting" is a key part of the definition. The act of "adjusting with relation to, or bringing into due relation to surroundings" is a primary function for a rug in helping to anchor or "orient" a room. And the authority on meaning, Webster's, defines oriental as "a handwoven or hand-knotted one-piece rug or carpet made in a country of central or southern Asia." Key to this is "hand-knotted", an element of every Moattar, Ltd. rug.
