Riding Inspiration
By Sarah Paulson
Can you believe that it is already June? Where has 2012 gone? Now, with only a few months left until this year's ride in September I wanted to remind everyone why you and your girlfriends should get out there and ride with some inspiration from past participants.
Janine, along with a fellow domestic violence filmmaker from Alaska were first time riders in last year's event and enjoyed the opportunity to ride with like-minded women who care passionately about the cause.
Longa, who rides in support of her daughter - a survivor of domestic violence, feels honored to be part of such an amazing event every year.
Good friends, Paige and Sarah were encouraged by an SPU professor to join the ride. They were first time riders and completed the 42-mile Middle Sister ride together.
Carol rode with her young daughter and was impressed with all of the support from sponsors and volunteers at the event. Being involved with Cycle the WAVE has shown Carol that there are many people out there who care about the cause and the mission of CtW.
These women come from different backgrounds and are at different riding levels but are all passionate about Cycle the WAVE and supporting domestic violence programs. There is still time to sign up and get training before September. Check out the WAVE website at www.cyclethewave.org to get more information about the event. Remember, "Intimate partner violence occurs among all types of families and relationships, regardless of income, profession, region, ethnicity, educational level, gender, or race." By being a part of Cycle the WAVE you and your girlfriends can make a difference in the world of Domestic Violence. |
Donate Through Pedal Partner Giving Today!
It is a great day to start donating to Cycle the WAVE. Besides registering for Cycle the WAVE consider making an additional donation. Your donations increase our ability to directly aid domestic violence programs in Washington State. These programs allow you to make a difference in the lives of children and families. Here are four easy ways to make an optional donation to Cycle the WAVE:
1. By Mail - 1420 NW Gilman Suite 2314 Issaquah, WA 98027
4. Corporate Matching
Last year, $40,000 was donated through our Pedal Partner Giving Program. You can participate in this program by setting up a Pedal Partner page on your own or with a team. Then email your friends, family and coworkers a direct link to your page. You will be amazed and proud of how quickly you can fundraise for such a great cause.
