women registered for Cycle the WAVE.  Riders were supported by almost 200 volunteers who helped you check in, changed flats, pointed you in the right direction, fed you at the rest stops, cheered and pampered you! We are proud to say we raised over $130,00 for the domestic violence programs. The recipients this year include; New Beginnings, serving Seattle, DAWN, serving the South King County area, and Eastside Domestic Violence Program.

What better way to express how the day went then to share with you the many quotes we received from all of you!  Read our reviews.

Also, don't forget to view our professionally produced Music Video; it speaks volumes about the day!

Follow us all year long!  The WAVE Foundation is already hard at work planning for next year and future events.

Thank You to our 51 Wonderful 2011 Sponsors!
Their partnership is key to our success! When you have the opportunity, please thank our sponsors in person, letting them know you support Cycle the WAVE!
Pedal Partner Giving Takes Off! story
For Cycle the WAVE 2011, riders and their friends and families stepped up to make Pedal Partner Giving a roaring success. Many riders gave donations above and beyond their registration fee to increase funds going to support domestic violence programs in King County. Many of those same riders also set up Pedal Partner Fundraising pages on our website to gather even more donations. They asked friends, family members, colleagues and neighbors, riders and non-riders alike, to give donations online or to write a check. The process was easy and quick. A rather healthy competition developed between some of the fundraisers and they pushed themselves to come up with creative ways to increase donations. It was no wonder, with some of the great prizes donated by our sponsors!
One supporter who is not a cyclist wanted to help, too, so for the first time, a Pedal Partner Party was held. Five women asked their friends to come and learn about the issue of domestic violence and give a donation. That evening, more than $1,600 was raised.
434 individuals gave $37,497! All donations, large and small helped make 2011 a record breaking year. Donations will continue to be accepted online until December 31st.    View the winners.

How often do you think about your abs when cycling?  If you answered never, you're in the majority.  But the fact is, your abs are hard at work with every pedal stroke.  While you may not feel tired in your abs, fatigue in the core muscles often results in slumped posture leading to back and shoulder pain.  And that you'll definitely feel!
So how do we train those tummies?  Turn on the telly and you're inundated with cockamamie torture devices guaranteeing THE most effective abdominal exercise of all time.  And it can be yours for just four payments of $19.99 - hurry now! Or better yet, save your hard earned $$ and do these two foundation building exercises that require nothing but a few minutes of your day.   Continued...
