Meet the Riders:  "Just Like You!"

Jennifer Malocha

ShannonP    I can't even begin to express my excitement for this year's Cycle the WAVE bike ride!  The reason I feel so strongly about Cycle the WAVE is that I am a survivor of domestic violence myself.

I was taught from a very early age that I was weak and worthless.  I discovered however that that was a LIE.  I really am smart, strong, amazing and powerful - just like you.

For the past two years I've had the privilege of being a motivational speaker for Cycle the WAVE but this year I get to go a few steps further.  This year I get to share what I do best by providing a distance bike training program.  I believe so strongly in what Cycle the WAVE stands for and what the ride represents that survivors of domestic violence get to participate in this training program for free.

In addition, when 20 athletes register for the Wuhoo Fitness training program 50% of our revenue will be donated to Cycle the WAVE.

This year I get to make a greater impact for a great cause AND help teach other women just how strong and capable they really are, women just like you. I'm excited to help as many women as possible to learn how to Ride Like a Girl".  WUHOO!

Training Tips:  "It's Good to be King Queen"

Shannon Paterson

Shannon     Cycle the WAVE is only a few months away girls!  As I rode much of the Middle Sister and Burly Girl courses the other day, I was reminded how hilly these girls are.  That's exactly why this course is so great!  You have to earn the finish line -- and there's simply no better feeling than conquering a challenge.
Before you become Queen of the Mountain (Tiger Mountain, that is), you need to perfect your hill cycling prowess.  Allow me to introduce your ladies in waiting... Long Tall Sally, Mountain Momma, and Proud Mary.   You'll be seeing these girls numerous times throughout the ride so use this guide to get over the hump like a champ, not a chump.

Meet the girls...
