Let attendees help spread the word

with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

Trumba makes it easy to promote your events by adding social networking features to our event publishing tools. Now you can post details about your Trumba-published events to social networks, and let your attendees help you promote your events. We've got you covered with all the popular social media tools.

Post to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

With Trumba you can post to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to share your event information by simply clicking the icons on the event detail views. Posts include the event description, date, time, location, event image and a link back to the event details on your site. Letting your audience post information about your events on their favorite social media sites is an easy way to increase visibility and engagement with your events.

   line only add

Posting to Facebook and Twitter is already automatically enabled for all Trumba calendars so there is no setup involved (you can disable posting to Facebook and Twitter if you do not want to display these options). Posting to LinkedIn is easily enabled in your event details settings. For more information and instructions on posting to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn you can find the information at: Trumba forum.

Add to Facebook Calendar

You can also use the Add to My Calendar Event Action to add events to a Facebook calendar, which puts all the event details (date, time and location) directly into your Facebook calendar. We have recently updated our Add to Facebook Calendar feature so that now it also uploads the event detail image along with the event details. With events in your Facebook calendar you have another way to spread the word and keep track of event information.

Facebook Comments

It's easy to allow Facebook commenting directly on your event and object detail views by enabling a Facebook Comments plugin within the views, so your site visitors and attendees can easily comment and share about your events and other content directly on your website. (For more information see the Facebook comments help topic.)

 Trumba powers Conference

Event Schedule for

More and more diverse organizations find Trumba the ideal solution for their unique needs. SLAS (the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening) recently launched their event scheduler with Trumba, to manage their first annual conference and exhibition schedule publishing and registration. Trumba's powerful custom filtering lets site visitors and event attendees easily find events conveniently organized in nine event types (exhibition, workshop, speaker, program and more). Trumba's custom fields enable SLAS to group their events into nine different event tracks, providing an additional level of filtering. Dividing each day into three time periods (morning, afternoon and evening) gives event attendees even more ability to quickly find specific events they care about most.

SLAS Manager of Events and Education Amy McGorry worked with Trumba's client services staff to set up their conference and exhibition events site. "Trumba is very user friendly, but our event setup required a bit of customization and some creative thinking and solutions.  We have it working wonderfully thanks to the help of the Trumba staff, who were so good at thinking outside the box and understanding how our event was different."

To see how Trumba is helping SLAS manage their conference and exhibition scheduling go to: slas 2012 events

Trumba is also helping SLAS provide mobile functionality to their conference attendees.  By simply embedding and rearranging a few spuds on a dedicated web page, Trumba helped SLAS customize their mobile site to optimize the display on mobile devices. To view the SLAS event mobile schedule go to www.slas2012.org/conference/calendar.cfm from your mobile device.

With Trumba's multiple levels of custom filtering, mobile functionality, and many other powerful features, SLAS quickly reaches their audience, whether they are online or on the go. For more information about Trumba Connect contact Sales

Customize map view on Event Detail Page

You can customize the layout of your Event Detail page by simply adjusting the size of the map image for your event location that appears with the event details. The default Bing map that displays in the embedded spud on your event detail page is a 250 x 250 pixel map that appears in the upper right corner.

This Bing map image can be resized and moved lower on the event detail page, closer to the information in the event note. You can manipulate the map dimensions by going to the Publishing control panel, selecting the Calendar Spuds tab and clicking Edit Settings & Styles for the Event Detail view. (The Event Detail view, not the Event Detail Enhanced view, is recommended for optimal map display.)  Increasing the map image width so that it matches the width of your main calendar spud design (typically between 400-600 pixels wide) will move the map image so that it appears directly below the event description note. You can also adjust the map image height to affect the event detail page layout; for example, decreasing the map image height will create a shorter map image resulting in a shorter event detail page.

Map image size changed to 500 x 125 pixels:

The resulting layout creates a nicely designed event detail page with the event information and map image aligned and near each other.
