South Coast Dancesport - The Coaster - November 2010

I trust this month’s edition of The Coaster finds you well. As we all finish up last minute preparations for Thanksgiving and look forward to a wonderful Holiday season with friends and family, here at South Coast Dancesport, we want to invite you to celebrate with us! It boggles the mind to consider where the time has gone, but on December the 3rd, we will be throwing our Two-Year Anniversary Party!! What a fabulous first two years in business. We would love to raise our glasses to you and thank you for helping us to create what we consider to be the warmest, most inviting, absolutely gorgeous dance studio on the West Coast.

The Anniversary Party is two Fridays from now; we’ll be host to the Jennelle Wax Orchestra as they play great social dancing music, mixed in with plenty of Holiday favorites. Our teachers will be performing dance demonstrations and there will be plenty of great food and drinks. We’re calling this our Two-Year Anniversary Masquerade Ball, so it won’t just be the studio that will be a sight to behold. We encourage you to find a mask, throw on your suit or cocktail dress and join us at our beautifully decorated studio for a night of celebration. Again, the party will be Friday night, December the 3rd, starting at 7 p.m. It’s free to come, so let us thank you in appropriate fashion for a great first two years of business.

Dancing with the Stars Showcase 2011

We’re all focused on the Holidays, but as 2011 fast approaches, it’s not too early to mark your calendar for January the 22nd. That’s the date for our Dancing with the Stars Showcase. Choreographed by Wendy Johnson and featuring more than thirty students from South Coast Dancesport, we will be joining Cheryl Burke Dance at the Segerstrom High School auditorium Saturday, January 22nd for our bi-annual Showcase. You can buy your tickets (only $20 ahead of time!) for this exciting evening that our students have been actively working towards for the last four months.

What a Spirited Bunch

A quick word of congratulations is due to all of our participating students in our recent Autumn Team Match. We had a great day with Century Dancesport and Cheryl Burke Dance competing at our studio. These Team Matches always bring out the best in South Coast Dancesport. We’ve got more pictures on the way, but click here to take a look at our album on Facebook. And yes, that’s us, hoisting the Top Team Spirit award!! Congratulations to Terrie Backes, Sharon Baltzell, Pam Whitehill, Evelyn Picar, Natalie Neal, Boris Wang, Jon Nakamoto and Gerri Cook for a great day of dancing.

Time to Hit the Town

And lastly, we are very excited about our upcoming Night Out on the Town! On Saturday, January 8th we will meet at the studio and hop in our stretch Hummer limousine and head up to Los Angeles for dinner at a fabulous family-owned Cuban restaurant and then dance the night away at The Mayan, one of L.A.’s well known Salsa clubs. This exciting evening is only available to the first twenty students, so sign up today. At $150 a person, which includes transportation, dinner, admission to the club and a full night of dancing with other students and the teachers, this event will fill up fast. Ask your instructor for more details.
