| With Spring just around the corner, it seems an appropriate time for new beginnings. I think South Coast Dancesport has just the thing: our own space! This past week we signed the lease for our very own location! As construction gets underway, we will begin the process of transitioning from our temporary location for the last few months at The Hills Hotel to South Coast Dancesport's new studio at 23461 Ridge Route Drive. If that address seems familiar to you, that would be because that's where we spent nearly the whole of 2009. We are doing a bit of minor renovation and will be ready to move in during the second half of March. Our first full day of teaching there will be March 15th (unless your teacher tells you otherwise). And with all the details of the move proceeding at breakneck speed, we have chosen to skip the March Practice Party and put together a great Grand (re)Opening Party. We are thrilled to have a studio to call our own, especially one that gives us as much space and freedom as this one does. So mark your calendars for April 9th and look forward to a great evening of dancing featuring the Jennelle Wax Orchestra. It will be a night to remember. |
Though the new location is a very exciting topic, we have a whole lot more going on over the next month of which you may want to be aware. First of all, the choreographer of our next Showcase, Tony Meredith, will be in the studio next Monday, March 8th, finishing up the routines for our July spectacular, Summer Lovin'! With over a dozen routines from students at South Coast Dancesport, this bi-annual event is a special performance that students work for nearly six months to prepare for. Next up is a gentleman you may know from years past: Ron Montez, a former United States Latin champion. Ron is one of the most respected personalities in the dance world. He was a 7-time undefeated United States Professional Latin Champion. He also placed as high as 4th in the World's Professional Latin Championship and was a finalist in the prestigious British Championship. He is recognized as a coach and choreographer in both the American and International Styles. Ron is the co-host of the PBS program Championship Ballroom Dance. He will be conducting examinations for our instructors (fun day for them!) as well as providing coaching for students all day March 16th. Book your time early! |
