54th ANNUAL SOUTHEASTERN REGION TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN TAMPA
BAYTAMPA, FL - More than 800 Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Teens and
Mothers will convene in Tampa, Florida this summer for the 54th Annual Teen
Leadership Conference. The Teen Leadership Conference, which is presided over
by elected Teen Officers, offers youth the opportunity to develop life-long
leadership skills, enhance their financial literacy and volunteer for hands-on
community service activities. The 2009-2010 Teen Conference theme is, "I am
the Past, Present, and Future...I am the Dream."
The Teens, members of the Southeastern Region of Jack and Jill of America,
Inc., are from Chapters located in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and
Tennessee. The Conference will open with greetings from Mayor of
Tampa Pam Iorio and feature keynote addresses by Dr. Steve Perry and
Ms. Kemba Smith, both featured on CNN and Nightline for their
outstanding work with youth. The culminating event of the Teen
Leadership Conference is the Senior Gala held on Friday evening, June
18.
