Dear Community Partner,

The rains are here--sort of--and despite the challenging growing conditions, so is harvest season. There are many exciting things happening this fall around food and food issues...see below for details.
Single Sock awards grants to Bayard and Silver City Community Gardens
garden Single Sock, the community run thrift store has awarded $500 grants to the Bayard Community Garden and to the Silver City Community Garden.

A number of gardeners from around the area have been donating produce to the food pantry. The first batch was this gorgeous basket of Italian beets grown by Mary Frances Dondelinger.

Steve Neinhaus and a group of dedicated volunteers have created an amazing community garden in Mimbres on land donated by Dr. King.
Look for them at the Harvest Festival !
