Mann Opposes Health
Care Reform Legislation - Will Work To Repeal It
The House of Representatives passed HR 3590 tonight, which is the version
of the health care reform bill that previously passed the Senate on Christmas
Eve. Tracey Mann, candidate for Congress
in Kansas'
First District, immediately pledged to work to repeal it if elected.
"I strongly oppose the Obama-Pelosi health care reform bill. At a time when businesses are struggling to
recover and national unemployment is at 10%, Washington should be working non-stop
to get our economy back on track. Instead, Congress has voted to dramatically
grow the size of government, add regulations, and burden the companies that will
pull us out of recession with a tax increase of approximately $500 billion."
Mann went on to say, "Overwhelmingly, Kansans that I talk to
oppose this bill and the continued growth of our government and national debt. This is another step towards a European-style
socialist government, which is exactly the opposite of what our Founding
Fathers envisioned. Tonight, Congress
has voted to reshape one sixth of our economy and create another entitlement
program. This legislation does not bring
about real reform to health care."
"I will work to repeal this damaging legislation that takes money
out of Medicare, breaks promises we have made to our seniors, and threatens to
bankrupt our country."
