Former Congressman and Legendary Coach
Tom Osborne Endorses Tracey Mann for Congress
Former Congressman and University of Nebraska head football
coach Tom Osborne has endorsed Tracey Mann in his campaign for the First
Congressional District seat in Kansas.
Osborne served six years in Congress representing Western
Nebraska, a district similar to the First District in Kansas. A conservative Republican, Osborne championed
agricultural issues.
Osborne supports Tracey Mann saying he is "impressed by his
character, his work ethic." He praised
Mann's background and experience in agriculture, and said he's "well qualified
to serve" Kansans in Congress.
"I'm grateful to have the support of a statesman like Tom
Osborne," remarked Mann. "I admired his
leadership on agricultural issues in Congress, his Midwestern values, and his
character. As a Congressman, I'll fight
for a sound agricultural policy and greater economic development for our rural
areas and small towns. Like Coach
Osborne, I'm not a career politician.
I'm running for Congress because we need business experience to get
federal spending under control," stated Mann.
Mann, a conservative Republican, recently opened his
campaign headquarters in the United Building at 119 W. Iron Avenue in downtown
Salina. He and his wife, Audrey, live in Salina where he serves as Vice
President and Director of Industrial Sales and Leasing for Zimmer Real Estate
Services. Mann was born and raised in
Quinter where he returns annually to the family farm to help with harvest.
