BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute will permanently exhibit a collection of fine art by Alan S. Maltz in the new Perper Waiting Areas. Thirteen of Alan's celebrated photographs of Florida scenes, wildlife and flowers are displayed, ranging in size from 00" x 00" to 00" x 00".
 A dedication ceremony and reception on May 19 celebrated the opening of the Mary Ann and Harold Perper Waiting Areas. More than 100 friends of the Boca Raton Community Hospital enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres as they viewed Alan's exhibit of fine art photography. The goal of the new waiting areas is to give cancer patients a feeling of comfort and to counter the anxiety they can experience during treatment.
"The Lynn Cancer Institute was specifically designed to exude both a sense of clinical competence and a progressive healing environment through the use of open space, natural light, water displays and, importantly, fine art," said Phillip Smith, MD, medical director for the Lynn Cancer Institute. "The gift of such prestigious works by Mr. Maltz will greatly enhance the unique atmosphere of care we have established for patients and their loved ones."
 The hospital was the recipient of a generous donation from the Perpers to name the waiting areas, which serve medical oncology patients scheduled for chemotherapy or to be seen by oncologists. Maltz's exhibit of fine art photography is in honor of Stacey Mironov.
