Artist Amy Colburn

"I graduated from the University of Dayton, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Major in Visual Communication Design with a Concentration in Illustration in 1993. I create hand-painted furnishings such as tables, chairs, signs, dressers, trunks, boxes and other unique items for use as "functional art".

Each piece features a one-of-a-kind acrylic painting on its surface, and a durable protective finish.

In addition to furnishings, I also design and create custom, hand-painted murals, both exterior and interior, in a wide variety of places including homes, offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and children's rooms.

I paint in a realistic style and, when possible, I like to add a touch of unexpected whimsy and humor. Because of my illustration background, my paintings often depict a story or theme.

The pieces are intended to be used and interacted with. NOT for use with food, however. Dust with a damp soft cloth, no cleansers."
