Come and Meet Nationally Acclaimed Artist and Sculptor

Nancy Wiley...

Nancy Wiley's work has been shown internationally in galleries and museums and covered by many publications, including the NEW YORK TIMES, IN STYLE and most recently the Winter 2010-2011 edition of AMERICAN STYLE. Her work appeared on the cover of GEORGE magazine in 1996 when Demi Moore and John F. Kennedy Jr. hired her to costume and style Ms. Moore as one of Nancy's one-of-a-kind dolls sculptures. In 2004, a retrospective of Wiley's work was shown at the Muscatine Art Center in Iowa.  The same year, Reverie Press published A DOLLMAKER'S ART: THE CREATIONS OF NANCY WILEY, a full color book covering over 100 images of Nancy's work as well as her biography, written by Louise Fecher.  From the time Nancy graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Illustration, Nancy has never lost her love of painting.  She works mostly in oils and paints her sculptures and dolls heavily as if they are "three dimensional canvases".  After relocating to Canandaigua three years ago, Nancy has gone back to her early love of illustration, combining sculpting and painting to create unique illustrations for Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". The 82 page, full color book, is lavishly illustrated with photographs of three dimensional figures in settings--as if they were tiny stage sets acting out the story. After being shown at the Strong Museum in Rochester, New York last summer, nine of the original vignettes from Nancy's Alice book will be displayed in the permanent collection of the Quinlan Museum, in Santa Barbara California.
