Greetings!,

Springtime is always the start of my heavy travel season.  In the next few months, I'll be in Australia for my annual teaching trip, back in the U.S. for the trade-only spring Quilt Market in Kansas City, and then off to Ireland with a group of quilters and Sew Many Places.Video shoot Mar2012

March was super-busy, too. Between some personal trips during the month, I was finally able to spend some time on a project that's been on my to-do list for some time:  a video shoot! I spent two days doing a host of demos and instructional sessions on my color theory, working with border prints, and even some sewing techniques.  We hope to begin rolling those out in four or five weeks. And they'll all be free to you.

Lots of new quilts this month!  I hope you enjoy them.

Sweet Ambrosia
Ambrosia fabric collection Just this last week we received our advance yardage of my newest mini-collection, Ambrosia. The fabrics feature some large-scale leaf and floral designs, and one terrific print in which the design is made up entirely of dots of color!

There are fifteen different fabrics: three different designs, each in five colorways.

Our shipment is due in a week or two so you can now pre-order the fabrics by the yard. Fat quarter bundles are ready to ship!

I love how vivid these fabrics are so I created a quilt design to show them off. Ambrosia is a queen-sized quilt available with either a light or dark background.  And there are three different color options: a multi-color version which uses all 15 fabrics in the collection, a blue variation, and another featuring the "hot" colors.

The two multi-colored versions are shown above.  Click on the image or the link below to see all six choices -- you'll be amazed at how different they look depending on the background color!

We've also scaled the size way back to make a wonderful baby quilt!

Moon Glow Pattern Updates -- Free Pattern Download
Moon Glow quilt In January, the pattern for my Moon Glow quilt was updated to reflect the new fabrics in my Palette Collection #11.

It was designed as a block-of-the-month, teaching quilt and includes instructions for traditional piecing methods as well as paper and freezer paper foundations. So it's a big one!

Since January, we've made a host of changes to the pattern to make it more consistent, and provide better guidance for paper piecers. We've also updated the yardage requirements to better reflect fabric requirements for paper piecing techniques.

You can download the complete pattern (it's 76 pages!) by clicking the quilt image or the link below.  And if you already downloaded and printed the pattern, we've put together a document summarizing all the changes so that you don't have to reprint the entire pattern.

This quilt is an all-time best-seller.  I hope you enjoy it!

Lone Star Salute -- Featured in McCall's Quilting
Lone Star Salute Mag Cover
Quilt finishes 74" x 74"

The May/June issue of McCall's Quilting features one of my newest quilts, Lone Star Salute.

The quilt's patriotic colors glow and I think the star just bursts with energy.

I love lone star quilts, and with strip-piecing and rotary cutting methods, they are actually much easier to make than most quilters think!

The magazine includes a complete pattern and McCall's has also put together an 8-minute video lesson that steps you through the entire process.

You can order the complete kit for $122 ($116 if you already have the magazine).
