WELCOME HOME WHEATON'S!
We are happy to report the Wheaton's arrived home safely from their vacation on the East coast. We look forward to hearing about their visit with family and thank you for your prayers during this special time.

POTLUCK - THIS SUNDAY!
 Our monthly congregational meal is this Sunday, March 18th, immediately following morning services. This event is a true potluck - bring your favorite dish! Hors deouvre's, salad, main dish, dessert? It's up to you! We may end up with a meal entirely consisting of chocolate brownies or green sugar cookies (those Irish!) or it could be all salads! That's part of the fun of a true potluck. Regardless of the eventual menu, we'll have a great time, good conversation and plenty of coffee. We won't turn anyone away but we promise not to let that cat in the door....

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
 WV WORK PARTY DAY
Saturday, March 24th It's spring clean up time at West Valley! We had a great turn out last year and we look forward to a repeat performance for 2012. Rain or shine, we'll get started at 9:00 - come early if you want a hot cup of coffee and a bite of breakfast! Bring your own small garden tools, gloves, brooms, etc. We'll be working inside and out getting ready for Palm Sunday and Easter - both are right around the corner! If we have enough volunteers we'll also be tackling the yard area surrounding the new Rec Center.
REACH OUT EVENTS
Next: March 27-31
The first Reach Out session assisting meals at the women's shelter is going very well with 8 women served . The next event is March 27-31 and we will be providing homeless men in our community a hot meal in a safe environment. The volunteer response has been such a blessing! 60th Wedding Anniversary Party - Saturday, March 17
The family of Kathleen and Clio Thomas invite you to an Open House in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary. The event will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the West Valley Fellowship Hall. WOMEN'S SELF DEFENCE CLASS BEGINS IN APRIL
A Women's Self Defense class will begin Friday, April 27th and run for four consecutive weeks. Please contact Dawn Velarde if you are interested in participating. More information will be published soon. This course offers great information and tips for all activity levels and ages. |

PRAYER REQUEST
We received a special prayer request this week from John Middleton, our member-at-large in Thailand. Please keep John, Maeo, Bee and Nun in your prayers as they prepare for DVBS, English Camps and English classes. Women's Ministry Meets Monthly
All women are welcome - ask your girl friends to come join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month at West Valley Church from 09:30 to Noon for fellowship, devotions, sharing, outings, quilting and crafts.
Next Men's Breakfast March 16th
The next men's breakfast will be on Friday, March 16th at 7:00 a.m. No special invitation required, just show up and enjoy a hot breakfast, conversation and fellowship!
