Ah... Snow

Annual Meeting rescheduled for

Sunday, January 29th!

Okay, it wasn't quite as bad at West Valley as in the picture above, but the snow event over the weekend messed with our best-laid plans and, in addition to cancelling Sunday school and Worship service, our Annual Congregational Meeting and lunch had to be postponed. In order to accommodate the two-week notice requirement, the meeting is now scheduled for Sunday, January 29, immediately following morning services. And yes, we will still feed you a lovely lunch - details noted below.

We want you to be safe and will do our best to notify you as soon as possible when a decision to cancel services or meetings has been made.  If you did not receive an automated phone call Saturday night and again Sunday morning, regarding the cancellation of services due to inclement weather and would like to be added to that list, please notify Pastor Keith or Margaret Post and we will load the phone number of your choice into the notification system. Currently, we only have 54 names on that list so we have lots of room for your name and number and with several weeks of winter yet to come we may need to utiize the phone tree service again as the quickest method for getting a message out to the greatest number of people.

One Minute Meditation

Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

There are few things more coveted than freedom. People die for it. People pray for it. People strive for it. True freedom comes from knowing truth. Knowing truth only comes by living in obedience to Jesus. Truth is not something you merely think about or believe. Truth is something you do, you live. Jesus' teaching always ends with the exclamation: Blessed are you who do these things! Only by doing will we ever know the truth that liberates us.

To the only true God be glory, honor, power, and praise. Father, I seek not only your presence in my daily life, but also your pleasure in the choices I make. Please teach me more of your truth as I pledge to live today in obedience to your word and your will. Through Jesus the living Word I pray. Amen.
