You Are Invited to Experience the Stations of the Cross
This Sunday is our annual Stations of the Cross service. Come prepared to join us as we reflect on the darkest hours of our Lord Jesus' ministry here on earth. During this service there will be no announcements, offering or informal greeting time as all are encouraged to focus on the great price paid for our salvation. A silent celebration of Communion will conclude the time. Please come prepared for a time of personal reflection and holy worship.

Tuesday is "Seder Day"
In place of our normal Bible study, this Tuesday evening we are holding a special Seder celebration. The Seder meal was the basis for Passover and is still observed by Jews to this day. Christian Communion has its roots in this special meal, which is rife with spiritual symbolism. Sandy Tonseth and Debbie Knight will host this special, which begins promptly at 6:30. If you do not normally attend the Tuesday Bible study, you are strongly encouraged to join the "regulars" and an RSVP would be appreciated. Simply let Sandy, Debbie or a member of the hospitality team know you plan to attend. |

Our Latest Family Hour Activities Every Sunday West Valley Community Church offers breakfast followed by a "hands on" Bible lesson for the whole family. Lately we've focused on the Gospel of Luke and four teams competed to illustrate different stories from that book. Using all types of materials the teams had three weeks to design and construct a piece of art that would demonstrate the passage of Scripture they had selected. A group of judges - Kathy Durkee, Ruth Tripp and Kathleen Thomas - were given the task of rating each project by finding the specific verses in Luke that were supposed to be illustrated. Click on the link below to see more pictures of the projects and the final results.

One-Minute Meditations
It was after the Sabbath. The agony and distress of the trial of Jesus and the crucifixion were past and Jesus had been laid in the tomb. "As the first light of the new week dawned, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to keep vigil at the tomb. Suddenly the earth reeled and rocked under their feet as God's angel came down from heaven, came right up to where they were standing. He rolled back the stone and then sat on it. Shafts of lightning blazed from him. His garments shimmered snow-white. The guards at the tomb were scared to death. They were so frightened they couldn't move. The angel spoke to the women: 'There is nothing to fear here. I know you're looking for Jesus, the One they nailed to the cross. He is not here. He was raised, just as He said. Come and look at the place where He was placed. Now get on your way quickly and tell His disciples. He is risen from the dead. He is going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there. That's the message.'" "Go and tell the good news!" That was the message then, and that's the message now. Spread the good news of salvation through Jesus. Tell everyone you know!
